@ Xeak, this sounds like a plausible idea. I'm fine with any creative way of limiting anima and making the game better!!!!

Forgive my double post, but I figured my last was getting too long to continue with what else I have to say on this topic.
When I first heard that FFXIV would be based around casual play I thought "great, solo content for if I ever get sick of people." But then I started playing and I found there is too much solo content. Leveling itself is a solo task unless u get with some linkshell members to go grind until your fatigue kicks in. I won't go on about fatigue because I know it will be gone soon
I quit FFXI many times, but had always gone back a couple months later because of all of the player interaction that no other game has, and maybe will never have. I liked the party system (not saying to bring it back in FFXIV) because it forced you to meet players you wouldn't otherwise meet and started bonds of friendship that wouldn't break even after everyone has left the game, because you still have those great memories and you may be in contact with them in some other way still.
I don't mind keeping the amount of solo content that the game already has, and I'm appreciative of the dungeons being introduced that do force parties, but we need more ways of player interaction. Dungeons will probably be done with linkshell members instead of strangers, though I'm sure plenty of people will still be in a city shouting for parties for the dungeons. I would love to see content that got random players together to form strategies to complete their tasks. Even though Eco-Warrior (does anyone remember that?) fell out after the first 2 years or so in FFXI, it was something that forced strangers together because it took tons of strategy that veteran players didn't care for but noobs were itching to try it out.
And yes that's also a hint at adding more noob content for people to enjoy instead of hard leveling to r25 before being able to do anything of real joy.
That's all for my 2 cents ^^
dood, eco warrior was nuts! you had to have like three full parties to finish it, but i remember it was fun (if you could get the people together.) I say bring back the same idea... that was awesome, there needs to be some more low level epic quest like such!
well they could actually make teleport points like in FF XI tele holla, if you wanted to go from jeuno or bastok, windurst or wherever u wanted to san doria you could take that tele and had to walk or rent a chocobo there to get there still being little far from there, that kind of thing would be great but there should be just a few of those points and of course means of transportation.
Oh man, your gonna get yourself flamed for referencing FFXI.. but I plus 1 that sir![]()
Honestly I see nothing wrong with using some ideas from FFXI. And note I said "ideas." Meaning they can be changed in a new way to fit with the FF franchise.
Also, I think it sucks that they reduced the amount of party members to 8. I liked the idea of having 15 members in a party for large-scale content (but of course there is none of that yet). I would be thrilled to see some kind of alliance system and an addition of content needing tons of people. Of course, though, doesn't need to happen. Having huge content just for 8 people is good enough.
i hate the anima system completely.
remove it plz
add in teleport spells for con. to main cities and yes like ff11 exactly ,add in teles at certain camps we can pay to port to, i miss that very much.
once they add in chocobos and airships then thats most travelling modes covered. as it stands now its sorely lacking.
ff14 is lacking 1 key element. FANTASY. we need a huge upgrade to the environments to add that lure and mystery to zones.
♥ MORE HIGH HEELS + INSTANCED HOUSING! ♥!
casual gamers = alpha testers
teleportation = alpha testing perk...
pay-to-pay = bye-bye hourlings hello poopstained FFwasteoids
=p jk i love ya

I agree that FF14 is lacking quite a bit of fantasy. I remember being a noob in FF11 and every new zone I went to had that same allure. It would be nice to have more mysterious zones, like Sanctuary of Zi'tah ... well, the music made it seem like that to me anyway. Was my fave place in the game to go and just chilli hate the anima system completely.
