Off topic seciton

A while ago someone else mentioned this, but the forum really needs one. Yes a forum for games is a place to put your suggestions for the game, but forums are also a place for the players to socialize outside of the game. It doesn't even take that long to add a new section on the forum. So please just add it it won't hurt you SE.

Making the game not suck anymore will go a lot farther towards building the community than an off-topic forum.

Jaded though this comment is (mine I mean), isn't that already the case anyhow? The only difference I see in an "off topic" section and an "on topic" section is the subject matter around which the things you've mentioned are occurring. That they occur is a given in either case.

A change of topic in lieu of 100s of troll posts related to jumping might not be all that bad.

Sounds just like general discussion at the moment...

But yeah, adding an off-topic section for the forums would just create more unnecessary work for the forum moderators when they already have their hands full trying to manage the general discussion board.

I admit thats what general disucssion is like, but general discussion is about a game so theres a lot less emotional attachment.

However when religion, politics, morality, etc, come up. People are more likely to value a specific position and believe it to be universally right, getting highly offended by those with other positions. And that is probably what an off-topic board would lead to. I've already seen people like Kilta start some serious drama on these boards over small moral issues. I would hate to see an off topic board with a topic on religion.
