We're talking about the same thing, right?
You're comparing speedruns with abusing a recommendation system. That's like comparing a Poptart to a Cat. They have absolutely nothing to do with one another.
I don't understand all the complaining about an "exploit." For one, it in no way affects anyone else in a negative manner, it is only for vanity crap. If someone wants to farm it faster than kudos to them. For fucks sake why do people nerdrage over the dumbest shit?
Edit: Did you know, that if you're easily offended on the internets that you can click that little exclamation point on the bottom left of each post, and SE will immediately ban people from the forums for 10 days without actually looking into it! Go ahead and give it a try! It's fun!

People (no one in-particular) like feeling righteous, it's what fuels 80% of General Discussion unfortunately. I don't really consider this an exploit though, I'm not cooperatively telling other people to commend me. I just do what anyone would do to get commendations, simply more of it.

It's SE's fault any way for making guildhests an absolute joke that take 30 seconds. So you're right, it's not an exploit. It is considered to be "fun with friends" while simultaneously having better time management.
