Playstation 3 freezing post patch 2.1

So FFXIV has always freezed up on my since launch but only after many hours of gameplay and usually only once that day. However post patch 2.1 FFXno luck. IV has frozen multiple times a Day. The game locks up, the music goes out after a few seconds and I'm forced to reboot my console.

It's definitely not my console, it's new, it's not overheating and I do not have this issue with any other game. I've tried reinstalling as well, no luck. This problem needs to get fixed or at the very least acknowledged as an issue.

Hmm.. If it did freeze once per day your filesystem might be corrupt. You should put the console in safe mode and do a restore file system. A rebuild database after that wouldn't hurt:

I'm still having this issue. I know a lot of my Ps3 friends are too. I freeze probably twice a day after 10 minutes of logging in.

Hmm I checked that link but none of the symptoms there relate to my issue, the risk of data loss scares me too even though you can manually back up your files. Still, I will consider it should the problem get worse. Thanks for the link.

Generally after the freezes the PS3 will do a disk check anyway, so every freeze can take around 20-30 mins to get back online
I've got a 500GB drive in mine so the disk check take a while, it doesn't always do it but it can give you the warning that due to not being turned off correctly the file system may be corrupt and has to perform the check.

same here...i reset mine...do a disk check then relog in. its annoying as it seems to have a timer? ie----crash when player is in a dungeon..lol

I have to have a freeze occur while out in the field or an instance, it always in a city for some reason. Either way, very aggravating.

Ive have 2 freezes so far. Both happen not 1 minute or so after i log in and both in New Gridania. Ive had no other freezes anywhere else and i have been on for hours.

I froze 3 xs yesterday. Was mainly when I would zone.
