The exp bonus per mob in dungeons has been doubled. That's enough incentive for me to level up my alt's through them.

I can't explain it, but trying to level through dungeons just feels slower. In the 20-30 range, after my roulette it was just queuing back up into roulette and getting stuck with Ifrit. The problem there is that he offers about 2k xp if someone hasn't done it before, other than that you get jackall xp for killing him. That happened 3 times in a row with a 10 minute wait in between (as a dps). I got sick of it and went to do levees and fates in Quarrymill. After about 30 minutes, I manged to get a full party together and we hammered out XP a lot faster than what I feel dungeons were pulling for me. Got 3 levels in about 1-2 hours. Now, unfortunately, even with another fate group Hive and King were just about impossible. Hive is a bit easier if you are infiltrating, but defending? Forget it, no chance.

No the scaling thing. It scales with the last fate group to kill it. If this group had say, 30 people and you go back with 10, you can hardly make a dent in the fate mobs. Most people just get blown up before doing any damage. It's just frustrating and disheartening. I don't mind dungeons, but when I get bored of them I'd like to hop into fates. Yes you can fate alone and wait in queue for an hour, but you miss out on the chain xp you can pull in fate parties and the efficiency. It's slowly turning into RIFT where people just simply ignored Rifts aside from the few who used them for XP. Fates are mind numbing yes, but was the purpose of 2.1 to render them useless? At this point, that's what it seems like. I am only hoping that after another week or 2 people come back from CT and whatnot and continue leveling alts.

So basically our route of leveling has been extremely limited due to the increasing fate difficulty?

Hopefully people get bored of 2.1 fast and go back to fate grinding.

I don't think it was intentional, and if we had the same amount of people doing fates as before it would work out, but the way it is now forget it.

Fate grinding was boring...glad there's options now. Welcome to the world of change. Adapt or die. I don't know what else to say I have no sympathy for people who get bored because they can't grind to max level anymore.

I've tried dungeon, quests, random fates, but these are unreliable in leveling. Dungeon takes too long in queue such as sometimes an hour as DPS, quests will eventually burn out, and fate parties are hard to come by. Has anyone found a better way to level now?
Make friends. Play the mmo. Dungeon. Do a fate every so often. Your hunting log. Enjoy the game. Seriously if you can't make 1-2 friends... you can duo pretty much every fate to 50 at best till you reach raid fates.

Seriously op, your post depresses the fuck out of me. -_-

You honestly just wished the community to suffer just so you can speed up the process in which you can suffer with them.

Battle leves actually aren't that bad. :3 rank 30 leves gave me 11k-12k (depending on bounty) per allowance. Rank 35 leves gave me 14-16k, which isn't that bad, as well.

With that said, I'm starting to see people come back to farm FATEs, at least in Masamune

I just don't understand what it is with this mentality. I've seen it on here, in game, and on reddit and other forums. It's just a vile, vicious, hatred for anyone who used to use or wants to use Fates to gain some levels. It borders on irrational.

And I don't think many people are going to argue that fates are boring and they are happy that dungeons got an XP buff. People are asking how to adapt in this thread, and you tell them to die? Nowhere did people state they are bored because they can't get to max level. I, and I am sure many others, prefer to do what is the most efficient way to do something. And if it happens to be fun, that's just a great bonus. Further, with your train of thought people may find dungeons boring and would be happy that the option to level a different way is available. Currently, that isn't the case. Right now, people are being met with others in game who will berate them, call them stupid, etc. for wanting to level via fates. It's like there's a stigma against fates and you aren't the cool kid in school if you run them. Aside from all this, I would just like to see how the xp/hr compares. All I can go off is how it feels while in dungeons, and it just feels slower to me.

Let's be honest here. You're hunting log will net you what ~5 levels at most? Not accounting for all the porting around you will be doing. That's xp and gil per hour lost to do a hunting log with a marginal reward. Maybe they enjoy the game by running fates? Why do you care how they enjoy the game, and why are you attempting to dictate your style onto them? I've met more people via fates than I have in dungeons. Dungeons are x-server for the most part anyway, so anyone you do meet in there has a good chance of being on a different server and never meeting again. And you can duo pretty much every fate to 50? Really? Try duoing the stuff in Quarrymill or anywhere else since the patch, on level or a level or 2 lower. With the way scaling works, you won't be able to unless 1 person is dedicated healer. Even without that, there are a lot of fates that turn up in the 20-30+ range that can't be duoed and if they can, it isn't within the time limits of the fate. Tonight, forming a fate group for Quarrymill netted me more friends than any of the dungeons I have run and you know what, all of them are having similar thoughts. You do the roulette once and then bam, that's it for the bonus xp. After that, especially for dps, fates become the defacto best way to gain the quickest amount of xp for your time.
