RIP fates parties , after patch not happening anymore :/
I think the announcement of their death is a bit premature. The first couple of weeks after a major patch probably won't resemble people's schedules in a month or two. People will be rushing to beat/unlock new content before they settle back down into a grind again.
Everyone is doing new content. So, leveling their alts has taken a back seat for now. Once people burn through everything they want to do, and go back to leveling alts, I'm sure FATEs will become viable again. Honestly, I just wish you could join a FATE part while in the DF queue. When it pops, it could give you the choice to leave or stay.
wow really? someone miss FATE party?
thats the most selfish way to level in ffxiv, i always hated someone who teleport when the fate isnt even finished, especially boss fate..
you should try 2 manning the boss while other people (including your party) just leave you after a few spell for another fate
selfish fate party, really glad they changed dungeon exp
People still don't know how to play their class in dungeons. And if you get somebody who refuses to listen all you can do is hope for the best and hope there isn't any wipes. Aside from that I've run into a few tank bots and those really ruin a run.
The only thing about this i find irrational is that dungeon exp has been increased significantly, but some people would rather sit in a circle and press 2 buttons.
Good riddance, FATE.
I thought FATEs will come back too, but then I experienced the "new fate difficulty increase" and I know it'll make it extremely difficult if a certain fate doesn't have at least 24-48 people (Failed continuous boss fates at Aleport with 2-3 parties).
As of now, it's impossible to find an efficient way to level, I've tried everything people have mentioned here and there are only three viable options which are pretty much done.
1. Battleleves, but this eats into points, and this is still slower than FATE grinding
2. Fate grinding itself is dead, and also due to the increasing difficulty, you spend a lot of time trying to kill one boss and earning the same reward. Most of the time it will fail so it's frustrating.
3. Dungeon grinding, but only viable doing the duty roulette once-a-day.
It's pretty much come down to do your once-a-day duty roulette and battleleves. Don't even try fate grinding.
Yea now my DPS class is struggling to get xp. ><
The queue times can be brutal and then when you do you hope the party goes well...
The changes are great for tanks and healers but for DPS well lets just say they nerfs the best (maybe) option for a dps to lvling.
Yea the scaling of fates really extends the fate itself. As I said before, if the fate is killed with X amount and you come back with less than a quarter of that amount? Don't even bother trying to solo it, you're get blown up. Even with a full party or 2, if it isn't the same amount as the previous kill, you may not be able to complete the fate. This also plays hell with the timed fates that include escorts or protection because those will inevitably fail as no one will be able to make it to them in time or protect them if they do.
I just don't understand why some people have such a hate for them. It's another way to level and tends to be more social than dungeons.
If you had read the majority of this thread, you would see people (mainly dps) are having issues with the roulette system. You do it once, get the bonus xp and then you're done...unless you run it on your 50 for tomes, then you don't get any bonus at all on a lower class/job you are leveling. Dungeons are the same thing as fates, after so many you may want to level another way. Also, if you get a member who refuses to listen and just does their thing your experience can be extended or include a good amount of wipes. Anyway, as I said before dungeons just feel slower to level. Until I see xp/hr from someone or figure it out myself I won't say that for sure, but it does feel that way.
