Someone recently on forums jested about a crafting dungeon. But--why not!? I personally think a "crafting dungeon" under the city where you have to synth a certain amount of gear or materials in conjunction with others to meet a quota would be quite interesting. Or possibly in Ishgard, an elite leve which requires several crafters to work together to complete a goal. Or possible the guild each hour requiring crafters to complete a heavy work-load requested from the sultanate. The Grand Companies will require massive amounts of armor and weaponry, food and drink, and medicinal products; why not have those companies require craftspeople constantly! The possibilities are unlimited!
Gathering behests that, in Thanalan for example, requiring you to go into a special mine and gathering a certain amount of ore before said dungeon collapses; this special ore necessary to make the great weapons needed to arm the Immortal Flames. Or in the Black Shroud, the Empire is burning down the forest and the Padjali entrust those gatherers to collect lumber and other parts of the trees to regrow the forest after the destruction. The Maelstrom in its constant battle with the sahagin are seeking fishers to fish certain creatures from the deep to use as bait to lure those sahagin.
Just an idea floating through my head while reading forums. What do people think? Should SE be a pioneer in the dungeon industry and create dungeons for craftspeople and gatherers? I don't think it would be an instanced dungeon per say, but I would love if it was! Adding content just for DoW/DoM jobs will cause the grind for craftspeople and gatherers to be exponentially disproportionate.
Ideas should go here for this type of content. I personally love crafting and wish SE would give us some well needed content. A board giving "tasks" of basically throwing away items to gain 500 skill points is not enough. Gathering and local leves aren't enough. Please, give craftspeople and gatherers more content!
