I've ran maybe 7 dungeons since the patch and I've gotten 8. Not a ton, but people do vote for me some times at least. Of course, I'm not allergic to pleasantries and explanations like some people tend to be.I've kinda noticed a trend really. I need to test it though. On my warrior I rarely get any from other players, but PLD's in my FC seem to talk of getting tons without doing anything besides the job they play.
Kinda makes me sad as I enjoy my WAR far more then running about as a PLD >-<![]()
The first dungeon i did in 2.1, i saw the tiny box in the corner pop up as i was zoning out. i was like wtf was that?
I won't feel ashamed for something I didn't say. I only thought PS players had it complicated with the in-game comunication during dungeons and raids based on previous discussions about it. I know PC players bash PS3 players, but it's not a good idea to go all defensive when someone mention them in a post.Um... no, not really. There's these things called USB keyboards, that 99% of PS3 players use. People don't talk because they're antisocial and just want to get done with the multiplayer crap so they can get back to their MMO single player RPG simulator. Assuming that PS3 players are the root of EVERY problem is arrogant and foolish. You should be ashamed.
Again, the game didn't give me any reason for being antisocial. This behaviour seems to be contagious somehow. I don't ask them to go chating with us all the way, but there are certain someones who don't emit a single answer when they are asked.
And yet you continue to post inane drivel in a thread you supposedly don't care about.
It's a shame that the commendation and party finder feature isn't really used at this time. I think as more time goes on, they will be more and more used. I've noticed that the commendation pop up isn't really visible and looks just like the loot pop up. In AK/WP/etc. I don't even look at the loot tables so it could also be the cause.
If they changed the color of the commendation pop up or have it pull the window or when the final boss goes down, I think it would be used quite a bit more.
I've gotten two commendations so far. Both were while I was playing SMN. One of the dungeons was Qarn, and the other was Sastasha. In both, there was at least one new person and I helped by explaining the bosses. I think that's why I got commendations.
We know it's coming soon as the final boss is dead. I make a habbit of choosing whom I am giving it to prior so I can usually get my vote off before they bail.
I have only done a few runs of wp since the patch and I just give it to the other dps if they dont do anything rude to lose it. I figure most people are giving them to tanks and heals so I want to do my part to help my fellow dps. I have only gotten 1 so far in about 4 runs. I can see myself becoming jaded as a dps if other dps dont start returning the favor though. I'll admit I will just start leaving without voting. The only way to avoid this is if SE forces you to vote before you can leave after the final boss is defeated. But that kind of ruins the whole purpose of it I guess. Im just not going to chat and suck up for a vote. I know I do my job well enough.
so you're admitting you pulled your claims out of your behind. thanks. How would I acquire such statistics in a reliable fashion? How could I prove my statistics are valid? Take screenshots of every commendation and my role? How would you know I don't just play DPS badly and such don't get commendations as often as when i play healer/tank?
I wish I could do those things but to be honest it isn't worth spending the time on! I guess what i'm trying to point out is that the feature doesn't seem to work as intended if people don't actually socialise. I love to socialise! But no one talks to me
Sure thing! Just run 500 dungeons first though, and then you can have your shinies. You know, since my way involves still doing content and earning them, whereas yours is the new generation entitlement way that gives you things for nothing.
So you think it's more fair for one person to get all of the commendations when the entire group was good, instead of everyone getting one if a group was good? Really? Well now I know who to never give one to should our paths ever cross in a dungeon.
