commendations are really depressing

There is kind of an awkward moment at the end when people are too scared to leave in case nobody has voted yet (if that makes sense?) like people edge towards the exit. I always give one straight away, wait like 10 seconds, then just leave. I've gotten 5 so far, some from PvP and some from HM dungeons. I'm not expecting to get them a lot, I play DPS, and people probably aren't going to vote most of the time. I'm just gonna be happy when I do get one.

I don't know if it's a western/eastern thing but i doubt anyone here actually gives commendations for being nice. Most dungeon finder parties no one even talks to eachother, so what do you have left to gauge people on? How they perform their roles. Unfortunately healer/tank roles are more obvious and easy to gauge so i suspect DPS get shafted a bit when it comes to commendations.

on the topic of 'leaving right away'...

I .always. finish a dungeon with at least a quick 'see you around' or something similar. that's more than enough time for people to vote. and if they don't, then they don't. *shrug*

How would I acquire such statistics in a reliable fashion? How could I prove my statistics are valid? Take screenshots of every commendation and my role? How would you know I don't just play DPS badly and such don't get commendations as often as when i play healer/tank?

I wish I could do those things but to be honest it isn't worth spending the time on! I guess what i'm trying to point out is that the feature doesn't seem to work as intended if people don't actually socialise. I love to socialise! But no one talks to me

If there are no outstanding performances in a run, I'll commend the chattiest, funniest person in group. Far too many players run through in icy silence. D: I like a good fun run~

Ironically enough, though mind you I generally always play healer, I've gotten a few commendations and generally give them out to friendlier people. Those Wannabe NPC players annoy me. If you can't even say hello and all you care about is 'go go go'.. guess what, not going to vote for you. However if someone is friendly, talkative and is actually social.. usually vote. Only thing that stinks is like yesterday, a great group, everyone joking, having fun.. I can't vote for everyone =(
