I try to award commendations based on who is the most helpful, or the most chatty (good chatty, not berating people chatty). If no one really talks then I look at how people are preforming. Are the DD's attacking the right mobs and moving out of stuff, is the healer constantly active, is the tank marking and reasonably holding aggro/using cooldowns... I have had a few instances where the person I wanted to give a mark to left before I had the chance to do it.

I am getting them pretty easily as DD and healer. It could be a PS3 thing, or some members may be pre-grouped (and can't vote), and some get out fast, and others miss it because the button's by the loot warning. It's still a new feature, so give it a week or two until people work it into their routine![]()

Yes, try not to over think it. People are weird, life is strange, welcome to social interaction 101.Why does everyone insta-leave at the end of a good run? I can't even give commendations to people because they bail so fast.
In PVP nearly -every- fight has everyone bailing instantly as well
It's just getting really depressing, like no one actually cares about the team they just won with.
I have received 12 I think now and the first achievement title. I actually find the opposite, seeing people hang around after dungeon runs to say goodbye and other pleasantries. I've been dungeon running a ton since 2.1 on various jobs of all level ranges and it's been such a great experience.
I WISH my server would use the party finder tool more however. Would love to use it sometime.
What we suffer is "the curse of knowledge". For new people, most of the dungeons after level 24 is considered "intense". For us, we just don't understand why newbies do not "get the mechanic" when everything is spelled out for you right in front of your screen... For them Brayflox is HARD ("you want me to Esuna all of you? move out of the way? and cure three people???), Sunken Temple is "ZOMG WTF was that", Cutter's Cry was "intense" and Titan "baby trial" was "fck this, I swear I ran and out of the train track from hell".

all about communication. Talk throughout the run not just Hello. People will be more likely to commend you if you actually talk to them.

I feel bad, because the only reason I haven't given commendations is because I always do runs with my boyfriend, thus not allowing me to commend anybody thus far...even though I've already gotten 3 commendations from 2 dungeons. ;; It feels so nice to get them so I hate not being able to give them out.

I wish it was allowed for people who do dungeons in a preformed party to give commendations to random people who join. I feel bad when I get one but can't reciprocate because I rarely join a dungeon alone.

Perhaps when people start to see the rewards you can get and understand the feature better, you'll find more people taking part.
It's a long way to go for the rewards but none the less, I see people using it and being in a much better mood overall in a dungeon. And thanks to the roulette feature queue times are way down. Some minor issues here and there but overall a very well done system.
