What MSQ asked this? I remember having to do Guildhest to Lv30 for the Morbol Boss to progress the MSQ.

Ok, That´s the exactly the problem. Hest of the Best is the Name of the quest, and Hero on the Halfshell IS the hest you need to do to complete that quest, thats all.
There isn't a hest called "Hest of the Best," that's just the quest name. You need to do a specific hest, iirc "Hero on the Halfshell," in order to finish the quest, kind of like when a quest asks you to do a specific dungeon. But if you've done all the hests, then the quest should be showing as completed anyway, unless you picked it up afterwards.
Yes it was a mistake to put a guildquest to progress on MSQ, and but is known that is never gonna do it again. the patch 2.1 had lots of mistakes
"Hest of the Best" is not a name of a Guildhest. It's a quest in the MSQ line. I think? The NPC that starts it is Slafborn in Revenent's Toll.
The intent wasn't to test if you knew your class - it's basically to help populate the feature for those using it as they level (in the same fashion as the leveling roulette gives a bonus to max level characters to encourage continued use). The quest actually alludes to that, in saying that you're doing these to help spread word of the Adventurer's Guild in Mor Dhona (you, the veteran, are trying to bring in greenhorn adventurers, basically).
Of course, since it's not a commonly used feature, instead of just popping in and getting the couple needed done, most of us had to do that unfortunate total of 9 back to back to finish what should have been a really quick quest.
Just having to do one wouldn't have been as big an issue, I think, and would have fit the direction of the story at the time - helping build the reputation of the Adventurer's Guild in Mor Dhona. The problem was that it required a feature that many may not have even realized was even a thing in the game that also required linear unlocking of each step. Unlocking each level of guildhest simply by reaching the required level would have significantly cut down on the frustration that comes with this step of the MSQ.
Boo, a necro.
They were pretty good extra XP when levelling up as you got a good bonus when you did them the first time on each job. But when I did them FATE and dungeon XP was lower. The intent wasn't to test if you knew your class - it's basically to help populate the feature for those using it as they level (in the same fashion as the leveling roulette gives a bonus to max level characters to encourage continued use).
