    ilvl & soul gems - question for devs

    First off, sorry if this is on the wrong forum. I was unsure of where else to put this.

    My question is considering, the ilvls averages and soul gems. The soul gem once you get it, is always level ilvl 30. Now once you get to 50 and get better gear, you will always have your jewel at the same level for ever. Now this one would think would lower your ilvl a little bit.

    On that note, why can't the soul gem increase in level as your class levels or not count it with your gear's ilevel?

    The gem is not counted in average iLVL. My BRD shows an average iLVL of 79; if I manually calculate the average from my gear excluding the gem, I get 79.0909. If the gem were included, the iLVL would be 75.
