Im sure this has been said already but we paid for this game therefore giving us the right to complain.

Back to the restaurant analogy.

Everyone has their free chips and salsa, but while the restaurant staff are trying to figure out what happened and fix the problem all the customers are insulting each other and hurling tortilla chips at each other like throwing stars.

Well its not like people are rioting on the streets for change. The forums were made for us to complain, that was the entire point, because if we had no complaints there would be no reason for the forum.

I will chime my two cents in for what its worth.

First off i think it is important to note that complaining or voicing concerns (however you want to view them) doesn't mean that I(We) hate the game or even the DEV's. So many times i have voiced concern or resentment towards some aspect of FF14 and the most common retort i get from peeps is well if you hate it leave??? Who said i hated the game.... mostly it is love for the series that gets my blood flowing(blood pressure up) when they release things or present Q/A's like the deplorable "Gathering" (part1)

That being said my real concern/complaint/problem with SE DEV at this point is how they are handling the rebuild. So many things are handled so vague or cryptic, the non answers really get me. I had a few people that have no vested interest in SE, FF14, or gaming in general read over the Q & A from Gathering and they agree these were some of the most shady things they had read (magic 8 ball anyone). I want to love this game and do the rest of the people in my LS , hell the rest of the people on my server. We are sticking it out cause we have faith (although dwindling) SE will make this game fun for the long haul.

Nothing would make me happier then having FF14 get to the point that they can charge money for subs, but I really don't get the protective secrecy thing they have going. This silent treatment ain't working.

The whole analogy is flawed. If your restaurant made a new dish and offered it for free at first, but is planning to charge for later once people are hooked on it, then it would make more sense. And ofcourse you want feedback, because if people don't like it you can't start selling it!

In your example you don't give a damn about the quality of your chips btw, you only want them to be salty so people, who eat them, order more expensive drinks.

I remember when I was eleven, I bought this gawd awful PS1 game, called Dragon Valor, with my hard earned lawn mowing money. It was $60, a fortune at the time. I was pissy over my $ loss, and my own decision to impulse buy, and I was mad at the company and even Target lol, but I got over it in less than a week. It was my choice, they didn't owe me anything, I didn't even have a means to complain to the company, and life went on.

SE is going to such extreme lengths to get our trust back and increase customer relations. We are on the same side after all. They want to make a game that we enjoy and will pay for, we want to play a game that we enjoy, and would have few qualms over paying for such a game.

People complaining about the game is great, the devs need to know these things. But people don't just discuss the game anymore, they attack and complain about SE as a company. The common mindset it shifting to SE vs the community. Which is silly since we all just want the same thing

I think it's simply because we've all waited so long now, we've ran out of all this "patience" that some people (including SE) constantly keep telling us we should have. So naturally, people do start to question what the heck their agenda is.

And to the OP, while your playtime doesn't make your points completely invalid, it definitely helps you see just how bad this game is after you've done the same old leves for nine months.

And without wonderful modern-day conventions such as GameStop and eBay, if you bought a game and did not like it, you would be stuck with it. That argument is hardly reasonable.

Forgive me if I don't see eye to eye with you, but SE could easily have not dropped the fees to this game. It is only out of wanting to keep your business that they have. I'm only asking you to be a considerate customer. Is that so hard?

Because things we've been asking for 9 months now are still not implemented. Very reasonable reaction.
