I've never seen global chat be a positive thing.
In every game I've seen "Global Chat" = Global spam/harassment/crude language/RMT advertisements.
I don't like global chat~ :3

I agree. However, it seems that enough people want it that it reasonably should be added. Just give us the option not to use it. I know I sure don't want to see it anymore.
I agree with the above statement if global chat is to be an in game feature.
However if it is being implemented the same as the msg option via POL from 11 i would be ok with that.
A way to keep in touch with friends who changed servers, not a way for gil sellers and power levelers for rl money to hound our every game momment.

Hellll yeah.Global chat channels needs to be implemented in the game.
Also, language localization channels would be nice as well as per someone's comment below. Just thought I'd edit the post to make it easier for devs to find should they read this.
Also, put in toggle options for on/off to allow the naysayers to play the game in silence. Won't affect them.
Also, make default global chat channels that always exist; General, Trade, Repair.
Good idea and should have been in from the start.
Optional global chat channels I'd like to see.
After some of the stupid things I've read in Ul'Dah, big fat no for me.
Global chat in any other MMO is only used to advertise selling gold/gil or to spam other useless shit. So I vote no.
