Alright, this has really been bothering me. There has been quite a bit of talk about the new job system that everyone seems convinced is coming soon. Since it seemed a better use of my time rather than playing the game, I re-read the last letter from the producer, and in the accompanying table, it listed the following about jobs:

(Planned)
-NEW-
Job system mechanics

(Current Tasks)
-NEW-
Development of core mechanics for the job system

(Future Tasks)
-NEW-
Cost assessment for job system implementation

Okay, after some initial confusion, it was cleared up that everything in that table was planned up until the end of the summer. So....by the end of summer they will have assessed the cost of the job system implementation, and not actually added jobs to the game.

Later in the letter Yoshi-P says this:

"A number of plans made at the beginning of the year will soon be ripe for release. Among these are the shiny new job system (a proper system, mind you, not just renamed classes)"

Again, it will soon be ripe for release, not actually released. And this cost assessment business has me worried. Here's my take on it:

"Let's hammer out the details, get some armor and weapons going, and if players respond well to the battle system changes and there are enough of them around at the end of the summer, we will begin to implement the system. If not, it isn't worth the cost."

Am I way off base here?
