Well, I'm not looking for "easiest". It is more than I've never tried a tank or a healer in any MMO before and it seems a bit scary

Choose a fun one, like archer or thaumaturge for the main class and a tank as a second class. So you'll get into the Duty Finder dungeons instantly (but the ones mandatory for the main class, sure) and collect plenty of update 2.1 bonuses… Also it's good because the biggest Tank skill needed is to lead people on dungeons since they are the ones going forward. You'll get to see the other first with the main class and then you can replay them with no waiting time as a tank.

At least this is what I wish i had done.

I like tank and Healer but thats just because I feel they keep the pt alive by either taking all the hits, or healing the guys that take damage!

DPS is fun though, running around, dodging AoE's hitting from flanks to rears! lol

In other words no matter what class/job you choose I'm sure you will enjoy it to its fullest

Thankfully (as far as i know) there is not a "better/needed above all others" class

    So have fun!

I am a winner, even though I sometimes fail.

OP - I've had the same issue as you have had for my first month playing. The best advice is just to try everything. like seriously, literally try everything. take note of what you enjoy, eliminate what you don't. You can do it all on one character, and all you lose is time that you normally would spend rushing to 50 or remaking alts.

that's what I did. I've been playing for a month now, and my highest combat class is level 22, Thaumaturge. However, I've also got 20 Arcanist, 20 Pugilist, 15 Lancer (yuck, didn't like it at all), 15 Archer(didn't like this one either), and 10 Gladiator, and I just started Conjurer.

I've JUST NOW decided, after a month, that I am going to go for the Summoner job as my "Main" (relegating all others to "goofing around/change of pace" status, and I'm gonna start the climb to 50 and "progression".

I'd suggest you just play a couple classes till 15 and see what you enjoy the most. Try ou a tank, a healer and a damage dealer then go with that till 50.

Also, since you can do everything on one character, nothing prevents you from going to 50 as a damage dealer, learning the game and the dungeons as you go, then at 50 going tank or healer as your main class. The possibilities are endless.

Group content starts at level 15, so I'd recommend taking several or all classes (at least a class from each of the three main roles) that far and running some dungeons. See how each class works in a group context during dungeon runs. Not only does that give you the best idea of which class(es) you like, but even if you then decide on a favorite and are taking just that one the rest of the way, you'll have a better understanding of what the other members of your party need to deal with. It should make it easier to coordinate with other players more effectively.

Just like most people (if not everyone here). I would recommend playing most classes and see which one suits your play style the most.

Atleast do a little research on the classes/jobs and see. But i'm only saying that if you don't feel like leveling more than 1 class. Playing the class will give you a better feel of it rather then reading or watching videos on it.

Imo, PLAYING a tank, is the easiest role.

But you're skill isnt what determines your performance.

Its far too easy for someone else to F up your role. (Then blame you.)
    So true XD

Pull, flash, flash, CoS(at 50) rotation. Flash more with AE DPSers. Mark target for single target DPSers. Occasional tab through mobs to check enmity levels with a loaded rage if someones getting high on one. Rinse, repeat.

"Hardest" thing (subjective) is timing defensive CDs to counter large spike damage. Which comes as you learn the fight due to mechanics being sequenced.

i always played tank in my old game but years of having useless healers that always thought thier job was to attack bosses instead of healing party really turned me off tankin classes... but i love dps nows its a more fun n busier role in dungeons since u have to attack mob spawns/ protect healer n dps bosses asmuch as possible :3

I'd go archer or pugilist for a newcomer. Both are easy to get the hang of and very fun.
