You can mess around with the new class, do everything it has to offer in a few days and bam your burnt out and nothing left. SE cant even tie their own shoelace in a few days so it doesnt buy them enough time to keep people interested.

Most people will have already levelled up their favourites or very close, some will "wait". some will just do it knowing what will come, for example GLD > PLD is pretty much confirmed so anyone wanting to be PLD will either 1. Have their GLD at 50 or be working on it now. Then come release day of this system they can do an hours quest, mess around on PLD and they back to square one of having nothing to do because there is still NO CONTENT.

And the Levelcap wont happen right away because it requires a lot such as new skills and armours and quests and other things.
i personally would not want to level up a whole new class for 2 or 3 skills, and less options for sub skills. But i can see why people might want to with the new battle system. However long term, it wont make any sense. it would be the equivalent in ffxi, of hitting 75, then having to relevel to have access to merit points. I have only seen the like in RO, and while the game is popular, i dont think most people want to do that.

I do agree it will kind of suck not being able to play your favorite class, but i dont think this system is the answer, basically they have to up the cap to appeal to people who want to continue their favorite classes. A merit system could work, but merit only makes sense at a final cap.

So essentially, they should just have an option to reroll one class or something, due to battle changes, i cant really see how restarting a job can be abused.

Considering you probably gain more EXP in Merits than doing 1-75 it is exactly like going back to lv1. But in XI you had the advanced system, you did not hit level 30 Warrior and then become a 30 Paladin did you?

Also who is to say its 2-3 skills, it should be a full clas worth of 20-25 skills.

they said that it was going to be like a specialization, that limited your skill choice but offered a few questable skills

Rather than being advanced versions of classes, we would like players to think of jobs as specialized playing styles optimized for partying. While playing as a particular job will render you unable to equip certain actions of other classes, you will be compensated with access to exclusive actions, which can be acquired through quests.
In practice, players will find the existing classes effective when playing solo or in certain party setups. Jobs, however, will shine in party situations where specific skill sets are demanded
the way i see this info is it going to basically be like a more specific build with fewer options, and a few quest obtained skills to round out and enhance that role.

Say paladin, will probably have access to most of what glad has, be able to equip con skills, and have a few skills that would enhance that playstyle even more.

Well guess it's just one of things where you cant really like/hate until you've tried it out. Guildleves sounds great no paper but eventually became monotone. So I will see how this pans out before judging it more.
