I think that' why they refear to jobs as specializations.
Aka, probably will end up like an advanced version of standard classes

This is exactly what I was expecting. A method to add party specialization for dungeons crawls without adding whole new classes to level up.
Leveling up is fun, but it would feel pretty lame to ding GLA 50 just to find out I have to do it all again with PLD if I wanna still be tank in my static.
Of course I will wait until I see it before I pass judgement, but I don't think its a bad idea.

Ew, I hope not.
Those are so many great jobs that I'd love to level up without having it being handed to me fully leveled with my class. Especially Scholar -> Summoner, I'd really hope not.
The game has Dragoons, but it seems to be more of a title. And it also is related to Ishgard I believe? It's in part of the Conjurer storytelling.

if it went like that, youd have to level scholar to get smn specialty, youd probably have to level scholar to 30, at which point leveling either smn or scholar would level both, and give you acess to both skills
lol at the people thinking that lvl cap is going to be raised any year soon. =D
Honestly there's barely any content for ranks 1-30 let alone to the cap!

lol See... What they AREN'T telling you is that more than 50% of this stuff they are working on, we won't get until sometime next year because it's all going in an expansion that they will charge you another $60 for. Which of course, we'll all buy, beat in 2 weeks, then go "wait a sec... where's my chocobo? STILL NOT IMPLEMENTED!!!" XD
