Thread: STAT Allocation PLD for Patch 2.1

If you're overly geared, go 30STR.

If you're a weakling, go 30VIT.

What everyone is going to tell you is - DON'T GO STR UNLESS YOU REACH THE NEXT TIER OMGOMGOMG!!!

As a WAR I went 30STR 90% of the time and never regret it. Tried 30VIT for speedruns (very useful) but swapped back to 30STR after 2.1. With enough gear you can tank anything in the game and more importantly, do a lot more DPS.

People say tanks shouldn't focus on DPS, but that's stupid if you're already able to reliably stay alive. Everyone who can contribute DPS should contribute DPS whether it's 1% more, 5% more, or whatever.

With the way gearing is right now, everyone has quick access to respectable gear that will allow you to go 30STR for most content. Unless you're looking at T5 very soon, I wouldn't even bother with 30VIT so long as you've got 5k HP as a PLD and 7k HP as a WAR. Learn to use your cooldowns and you'll be just fine. People were clearing T1-4 with much less gear than most people have now. You'll be just fine.
