Its probably that alot of people are online now, and your Laptop cant handle it.
It used to happen to me on my old PC, until I upgraded to a new one, am not having any issues. If the issues still exist, I'd advice you to update your graphics drivers to latest, If it didn't help, format your laptop.

i dont think its an issue with people being online such as internet latency or bandwidth issues. i had this issue on an old laptop that defiently couldnt handle 1.0 at all. i also dont think its an issue with my computers hardware even the GHZ simply because i hadnt changed any settings since the update and i was running this game fine on near max settings before the update.
if it wasnt for that fact i would have to say that its possible. though now i cant even test out different solutions to fix the game since the game is on maintenance right now.
the odd thing is that i was playing on my desktop this morning after the patch, on near max settings as usual and that was running fine, no problems at all. and although i dont remember all the specs on my desktop off the top of my head, i know that it was slightly worse then my laptop thats having the issue.

i appreciate the help, i have just updated my graphics card driver in an attempt to fix the problem but i cant test it until maintenance is over

Perhaps it's a Nvidia issue? Have you tried updating your drivers?
I'm not having any issues on my 7870.

I'm on a 7950, I have noticed a slight downgrade in performance, with most of what I've been doing. Also noticed more 90k DCs, three in AK yesterday!

i have tried updating my driver but sadly i cant check if it worked until maintenance is over. though i somehow dont think that will fix it

So this is what i noticed, if someone can have proof of this, it be awesome. What I noticed is the game is showing more on-screen now, you can see further into the distance and processing more details. For some reason my GPU at certain location say for example The Camp Bronze Lake area with the hotsprings? well that area really works my gpu, I get it with 80-90% and that is a lot since im pretty sure before patch that area only gives me 60-75% gpu usage. I do notice I could see further away and more details in objects. But I dont for sure, could be just the placebo effect but idk what is wrong, for sure its working mu gpu harder and need more processing. Oh i am using a GTX 770 Superclocked, I shouldnt be having trouble with this.

so after last nights patch the game seems to be running fine again. same settings that i used to play (near max) and the same settings that were ungodly lag yesterday that made me start this thread. the only thing i can think of that i did was update my graphics card driver. im glad its working now just like it used to. however one thing i noticed is that in my graphics settings in game, it is saying that its using my intel graphics and not my geforce graphics card, but when i click on the drop down, my geforce graphics card isnt an option to select. anyone know how to get that to show up? im sure it will run better if i can use my actual graphics card instead of my intel based graphics

if i'm not wrong, in the nvidia panel there is an option to pick a processor or let the driver/application choose. set it to nvidia.

    It's not just PC.

The PS3 version is having the exact same lag. It's almost unplayable in Instances. It comes and goes. It'll be fine then suddenly nothing for 10seconds straight.

i have found what you said in the nvidia control panel and selected it to be my gtx card, but its still reading intel(R)_HD_GRAPHICS_4600(\\.\DISPLAY10)
though it would really be nice to get it to read from my nvidia graphics card in game since im sure that would improve performance, the game seems to be running fine just like it did before though so thanks to everyone for their help
    i really appreciate it
