it is SE that designed the fight, the disable of the abilities is intentional, they didn't patch it as of 2.1, they should be aware of it since it's been going on for at least a couple of weeks.
if you are allowed to tank Chimera on a slope and negate all his AoEs I don't see what's wrong with this.
We don't employ this tactic since it's faster to just engage it and deal with the abilities, however I can understand why some group use it.
Once again, there is no way this is an exploit. At best it's an unintended result of design much like being able to tank Caduceus with more stacks than intended instead of using the feeding mechanic throughout the fight. Was anyone banned ever for not spawning and feeding every slime to Caduceus?
The reason that the ADS stops using it's other skills because it is designed in a way where it can only use a skill every set interval and the skill it uses at the interval is on a priority based on it's current HP. The laser attack is obviously of highest priory so it ALWAYS uses it instead of one of it's other skills. This isn't a bug and it really isn't exploiting it's mechanics. The ADS is actually functioning per it's expected design but coming up with a strategy to deal with this design is likely unintended.
Since players are playing under the rules of the game and ADS is functioning per it's ruleset then it cannot be considered an exploit.

Objection: If you do not like killing ADS this way by all means don't do it. Taking 3700 damage every 5 seconds is certainly not an exploit...Has a dev ever weighed in on whether or not waiting for ADS to rage before fighting is an allowable tactic? I have been leaving every party that does it because I don't want to risk getting in trouble.
It literally disables every fight mechanic, who in their right mind could consider it not to be exploitation?
You're acting like this fight is hard... it's really not.
It sure seems glitchy to me.


I think it only concerns the new or lazy people who run coil. My static can clear the turn with 4 adds dead + the boss in under 10 mins. Why would we add another 6-8 minutes on top of that? It's really not that hard but your party composition may vary.
