i like fates (not grinding them), but i do agree that they pail into comparison of what GW2 does with them. it would be a good thing to start making them a little more elaborate and dynamic tot he map that they are on.

I much prefer special event FATES over go here - go there solo quests! (And I don't like FATE grinding much). Get together with your friends and make it a party!Be silly! Have fun!
I like many others here would rather stab my own eyes out than camp fates. I am not against them being in the game in the least but I am very strongly against them being in quests that are required to reach other content or finish a storyline. I want to avoid them and let those who like them enjoy them. What is so wrong with this? SE has taken a good idea of having a system of leveling that is optional and made it a requirement to access content. Seasonal events I have no problem with being fates, I find them boring and wont chase them. All I would miss out on by avoiding them is an outfit not content access which is the missing key between the two sides for me.
#1: I agree. I wish SE would at the very least mix up FATEs a bit instead of them being nothing but AoE spamfests. A small part of this is the players' fault, as even when a FATE has you fighting only one enemy I see a lot of people still spamming their AoE attacks.

Please stop saying things like this. State your opinion, and if people agree they'll like your post.

This is precisely how I feel. I don't mind as long as it's optional and I'm all for more choices, but as it stands... I feel it's the lazy man's out as far as event implementation; 'can't afford to put strain on the instance servers? Throw it in a fate! Don't want to script NPCs?! Throw it in a fate!!'
I think i'd prefer a fetch quest. Both equally tedious, except a fetch quest theres a guarantee I'll get it done within a reasonable amount of time.

I did. GW2 events were worse than these. No one was doing them except me. Not all FATES are zergfests. Avoid Quarrymill and Costa Del Sol and you're golden.Fates are not fun, the majority of players do not like fates at all. I absolutely despise fates, this is coming from someone who ran off and did every single event in GW2 and absolutely loved the event system(aka fates) in GW2 and wanted to do every single one everytime they were up.
Fix your horrible fate system, make them actually interesting, chain, effect the world, last more than 5 seconds, scale, and not be gigantic zerg fests. Then, and only then, are you allowed to keep using these.
Go play Guild Wars 2, see what a dynamic enjoyable event system is, see how to actually make a fun, interesting system. Go do the tequatl event, see how to make a truely challenging world event.
I will repeat again: The majority of players do NOT like your fate system, stop using it, please.
Thanks for reading our feedback!
Campaign battles in XI didn't last 3 seconds and could be fun. Much rather have campaign, hell loved besieged too.

The FATE events are still better than Tanaka's bell events. But quest events are better.
Please SE, give us quests. Let us run to many NPCs located in many places.
I hope that we get a quest for Valentine day where we can give everyone a kiss again ^^.
I don't know how a FATE would be for Valentine Day.

The fate events at this point are pretty ridiculous. I mean, we've got a new seasonal event going on that requires you to spend an hour camping (not even participating, just waiting) fates and you're done with it. Bam, nothing left as far as the event goes.
Might as well not have an event since there's no reason to care about it after doing the required fate 3 times. I'm pretty disappointed about that.
