I'm probably about as tired of Fates as the next guy, but I actually like the ones they added for this holiday event. They were kind of different as far as Fates go. Mostly the same as the rest but with a small twist.

				i agree 100%
fates suck when you have to wait hours just to finish story content. i only finished one of the two since i didnt get credit on the second one twice since the NM keeps poping in & out. mobs should take priority in massive crowds.

So nice that you all are actually giving suggestions for what they could do to replace event fates instead of just complaining.
Considering the devs working on content were focused on getting Crystal Tower, the extreme primals, FC housing, and everything else up and running, I think its nice they still took some time to do something for the holidays. Maybe in a year or two they won't have quite the same pressure on content and might decide to do some holiday dungeons. But I'm sure they just didn't have time for much more this year, with launch and content issues.
If you really hate it, fine, whatever. Some of us actually appreciate the work they do. >.>
As far as Fate hate goes, how much of it was due to your desires to rush to 50, so you just camped them? I've tried rushing before in other games and that burnt me out on them. I'm not surprised the same happens here. <.<

I think a lot of the Fate hate comes from having no decent alternative to level another class after hitting 50 the first time around. By that point, most if not all of the side quests have been completed, leves gave a minimal amount of exp at higher levels, and dungeon exp was better than leves, but nothing compared to Fates. With this patch the dungeon exp gains have been increased, along with the various Leve gains, so I believe that is an excellent start. The dungeon roulette is also a great addition. If they would maybe back off the Fates starting the next patch people wouldn't be so tired of them, I think. They're here to stay but I think we could deal with less.

Exactly - if players had to grind FFXI style through exp parties the people complaining about FATES now would be instead saying 'get rid of exp pts'.So nice that you all are actually giving suggestions for what they could do to replace event fates instead of just complaining.

And yes, I like FATEs in that I can come and go at will - they're like Campaign Battles from FFXI only more open. If you don't like FATEs, go do something else. Go ahead, call me a 'white knight', it's a badge I wear with pride (being a PLD and all).![]()
Stats please.Fates are not fun, the majority of players do not like fates at all. I absolutely despise fates, this is coming from someone who ran off and did every single event in GW2 and absolutely loved the event system(aka fates) in GW2 and wanted to do every single one everytime they were up.
Fix your horrible fate system, make them actually interesting, chain, effect the world, last more than 5 seconds, scale, and not be gigantic zerg fests. Then, and only then, are you allowed to keep using these.
Go play Guild Wars 2, see what a dynamic enjoyable event system is, see how to actually make a fun, interesting system. Go do the tequatl event, see how to make a truely challenging world event.
I will repeat again: The majority of players do NOT like your fate system, stop using it, please.
Thanks for reading our feedback!

More like Please stop making FATEs a quest requirement. Stupid doesn't even begin to describe the idea of making overcrowded, slow spawning FATEs a necessity to unlock CT.

As I said in another thread, I presume the reason that SE made special events like the Lightning event and the current Starlight Celebration as FATEs is not only would it be simpler and faster for them to implement into the game, as there is an obvious expectation that there would be a lot of players all rushing to do the event at the same time, a FATE is better set up to handle multiple players doing it at once - the Halloween event which wasn't FATE-based was a crowded, laggy mess for the first few days. And who can forget the problems with accessing story instances in the Beta, where players had to literally line up and wait their turn to access the instance like they were at a bank?
No doubt SE saw these problems, and just thought the best way to deal with it for the Christmas event was to do it as a FATE. Of course only Yoshi-P and SE know the real reasons for this design choice, but that's what it seems to me to be anyway.

				SE...
Stop trying to make 'FATE's' happen. It's not going to happen.
I only had 1 class to lvl in 2.0 (Arcanist) I was doing FATEs casually while doing the main story. I found them fun that way...
So I disagree that FATEs are not fun. IMO They are not fun if you 1. have to spam them mindlessly to lvl up, or 2. Have to stand around doing nothing while waiting for them to pop.
The FATEs themsleves I did while traveling for quests and exploring the world - Were in fact fun for me.
