    Developers Priorities

I understand that an MMO by nature will be a bit of a time sink, but the developers appear to have made manipulating gamers into an indefinite subscription length the priority over making a game that people enjoy.

*Lockouts its not done so some players do not get left behind, otherwise the people who suggest rollover myth tomes would be accommodated, its so that it takes you weeks to get a full set of gear you may want, a time manipulation

*housing prices Yoshi flat out said, in 3 months you should be able to afford it, I play to enjoy, not to work to earn enough money to play content I want to enjoy, another way to extend your play time, and in reality will probably just encourage more RMT

I could go on, but I have limited characters and I think you get the point.

There are a lot of good things about this game, but the forums shouldn’t have this many complaint threads, the monumental failure of 1.0 shouldve dissuaded you from running this version like a live action beta.

So....What is your proposal for an alternative? JW

Keep in mind that games where everything is achievable (single player for example) tend to last ~40-60 hours of play time. Also keep in mind that this game needs a flow of income to sustain server costs.

    Always remember the Silver Rule:
"Treat others as they treat you!" ...or something like that.

I don't think you've been to very many forums for games. People are far more likely to post threads if they're unhappy about something than if they're content, it's just human nature. This is why it feels like there's a lot of complaining going on.

Also, one of the main goals of a business is to make money, and they make this money by keeping their player-base interested over a long period of time. Without some kind of pacing, people tend to go through content too quickly and end up getting bored or burned out and end up quitting.

I'm happy with the game so far, despite its flaws. Note, I said 'despite' its flaws, I'm not denying it has them.

That being said, I don't bother to post threads here raving about how much I love the game and that anyone who has a problem with it is some kind of namby-pamby doo-doo head. People have their own personal opinions and tastes, and I'm fine with that, so to me it'd be a waste of effort to try and stave off all the 'trolls' that have beef with this game for one reason or another. Instead I just use the like button or comment on threads where I pose a question or point something out about a point I disagree with someone on in the hopes of either realizing I was mistaken about something, or better understanding a different perspective. (I enjoy using Sarcasm more than I probably should, though).

People can call me some kind of sheep or white knight, but all I'm doing is paying for something I enjoy. I'm certainly no special snowflake, so I imagine there are plenty of others who are fine with the game despite its current flaws, and don't bother posting raving positive feedback in the general discussion forums. I do enjoy the threads that insist the game is universally flawed and unenjoyable no matter who you are, implying that there's something wrong with you if you are enjoying the game.

(I put 'trolls' in marks because of how it's often used to describe anyone who doesn't like the game, much as white knight is bandied about to label anyone who is fine with it, instead of just the extremes that fall under what used to be the definition behind those two terms)

I understand all these points, my point however, is that if you are that insecure about your ability to make content people will subscribe to because they enjoy it and instead must forcibly dictate the pace they play at, there is a problem.

I'm very much with you. After much speculation, after they corrected the error in the patch notes to 0.14% and looking at my servers current economy. My free company and I have already adjusted our methods to achieving the large lot for free company housing. Will it take some time, yes, but we will get their a lot sooner then 90 days from now.

When the devs stated that FC housing would be a social status thing, that alone should have hinted to the community that FC lots would be expensive, especially the large lots. Remember it was suppose to be social status thing, meaning it wasn't meant to be easily obtainable on the day of to most of the community.

I don't see any flaws... oh, wait... *removes rose-colored glasses* ah, that's better . Okay, yes, the game has many flaws and time-sinks, and developers have to plan for things coming down the pipes. Yes, FC/Guild Housing is expensive. Yes, it will be considerably more affordable in 90 days (as Yoshi has said). Developers have to plan for the future content coming along with these. 90 days (Ides of March / March 15th) will likely be just before 2.2 and the BC Expansion, along with Leviathan (HM/EX), GKMMXII (EX), premade alliances (24-mn queueing for CT), further advancement of the ongoing story, Expanded Beast Tribe Dailies, perhaps much, much more... and then 90 days later (or so) the Personal Housing (Already stated to be planned to be much cheaper than FC Housing) in 2.3.

Time sinks? This game is quite easily the fastest leveling and gearing game I have every played. Most of the new content made it even faster. With one WP run, all of the Duty Roulettes, and the beast tribe quests; I was able to make around 500 tomes. With that kind of production, I can gear a new character for coil in a month's time and less if I farm WP runs. These forums are A LOT more tame than most MMO forums. If that's how we're going to measure ARR, then it should win game of the year. xD

Just be glad this isn't EVE online, I don't think half the ARR player base would last a second in that game. When CCP comes out with a change that no one likes, they literally tell their customer base to just deal with it with their trademark "HTFU" (Harden the F*** Up). At least Yoshi explained why things were made the way they are and is offering a path for us.
