I was wondering when will my veteran award be applied to my account. I activated the game around november 20. I applied for thirty day subscribption but then i ended up getting the ps3 version also which added 30 days and extended my billing date to january 20th. Do i get the award on the date i get billed or 30 days after i activated my account?

You get it when you're billed, and for some inexplicable reason, they only count the separate payments made for the subscription alone and don't count when you pay for software+subscription together. So you should get your first veteran rewards (fantasia and a wind-up cursor minion) January 20th.

(Assuming you keep that subscription renewing, you'd get the Cascadier Uniform Voucher and Black Chocobo Chick minion around February 20th, the Voidal Resonator mount and Beady Eye minion around March 20th, and so on for the subsequent awards.)

Is it a total of 180 days subscribed? or I have to pay for a one-time 180-day sub?

It doesn't have to be all at once. It counts the total number of months that you've paid for (with standalone subscription payments — not including time received for purchasing the software) up to now. So if you're doing a recurring 30-day subscription, you'll get the 30 day reward for your first 30-day payment, the 60 day reward for your second 30-day payment, and the 90 day reward for your third 30-day payment. Then they slow down to every quarter rather than every month, so your fourth reward would come after you make your sixth 30-day payment, and your fifth reward would come after you make your ninth 30-day payment.
