    for GLD I can see the below skills being useful, I dont main GLD or PLD though so it would be easier for someone that mains the job/class to decide.

    Straight Shot- Damage and Crit Rate +10%. Melee Only.
    Raging Strikes- Damage + 20% (including DoT) ALL CLASSES
    Venomous Bite- Powerful DoT with short duration. Melee Only.

    Feint- Damage + Slow. All Melee.
    Invigorate- Restores 300 TP. ALL CLASSES.
    Blood For Blood- 20% dmg buff but with 25% Dmg Gained. ALL CLASSES.

    Internal Release- Crit Rate + 20%. ALL CLASSES.

    I've seen quite a few Marauders for this reason. If cross-class skills promote survivability for healers better and damaging dealing for everyone else, definitely go for it.

    Because of how awesome the fairy can be and with SMN I can get Fester, I don't see Arcanist as better though.

    I have been soloing as base classes for along time... particularly Jobs like Bard where most of the additional abilities are useless if you are soloing. Cross class skills significantly increase your survivability when soloing. I even FATE with base classes because you can never rely on anyone healing you. I wouldn't be surprised at all if base classes prove to be superior to jobs in PvP where the added flexibility might make up for the few job specific skills you get.

    Originally, the description for Jobs on the web site actually stated they were designed for group usage and classes were oriented to soloing, so I don't think this concept is that far outside of SE's design.

    EDIT: The web site still says this... "The foremost appeal of jobs is the unparalleled degree of specialization they offer. Their potential is best realized in party situations, where having well-defined roles is the key to success. There can be no doubt that jobs shine the brightest in the company of others."
