Cure II and Medica wont help, because PLD doesn't have the MND to make them powerful. All you'll do is burn through MP faster for almost no gain, and if your idea is to use healing for hate, you'll find that flash is much more effective than heals with no MND.
- If SE wanted to make PLD healing not-terrible, they'd give PLD a trait that converts a percentage of STR or VIT into free bonus MND, as is standard for many modern MMOs with hybrid melee/casters.
- Another alternative would be giving PLD procs that allow them to instant cast a conjury spell with increased potency.
- One more alternative is adding spellpower onto swords in addition to attack power. Spellpower exists on magical weapons.
I agree with the OP though that its silly PLD gets Conjurer as one of its two sub classes when it has about as much synergy with the current design of PLD as if you made it the subclass of WAR or DRG. However, I think if SE wanted it to really be a part of PLD's playstyle, they would have done one the above mentioned, or given the PLD job a healing ability of its own.
Some people will say "Well, it helps soloing." but jobs are for parties and classes (which can equip abilities from any class) are for soloing, according to SE, so it doesn't explain why PLD has CNJ sub. There is theme of PLD using white magic, which supports CNJ being a sub, but then the actual game mechanics and class design doesn't support the CNJ sub very well.
