    Should PLD get cure 2 as cross class abliity?

    My idea of a pld, is a tank with white magic abilities for survivability, and some damage like holy, but the cure 1 that we get now is worthless. Why not give PLD cure 2 and maybe medica 1? Plus this would help with enmity. Do you think this would mess up the balance of tanking, making them too OP? Curious of what other people think.

    If you're in a position where you need to cure 2 yourself, your healers are doing something wrong.

    Uh...Paladins normally aren't ones that can tank and heal, heck Paladins generally aren't Sword and Shield users (as their primary weaponry) - If anything it's more of a FF thing to have Paladins as a tank that can cure themselves, which would fit well with Final Fantasy XIV ARR. Not all games have to follow the generic "most of your skills can land a debuff on the enemy so a support/debuffer class isn't truly needed in the game" battle system but hey, guess what system ARR follows?

    Curing yourself was more of an enmity tool than survivability tool first and foremost.

    True, that can help, But if anything they should buff cure 1 on paladins instead of giving us cure 2. That being said, if they did give us Cure 2, I wouldn't argue with it.

    I agree that Cure I is worthless on PLD, but we get Stoneskin, which may as well be Cure II just a bit slower. After getting a good bit of gear, your HP can get 6k+, and a stoneskin is 660 HP basically. Nothing lifesaving, but if you've got plenty of enmity already and want to reduce dmg a bit more, it does help.

    It's not what I think of when I think of 'PLD' either (stoneskin instead of cure), but the tools are still there. But I'd be all for Cure II as a cross-class.

    By this logic then we should just remove cure 1 then I guess... Please name one game where a pld doesn't have curing abilities? And shame on WHM cookie cutter jobs, how dare they all cure! Not a very thought out response.

    Cure 2 right now would heal for around 400.

    We would need more magic damage on swords and a trait that increases our actions by 30% (like BLM's Magick and Mend).

    I'm all for anything that makes tanks more interesting. Now with increased enmity from 2.1, playing PLD feels even more brain dead.
