Petition for a Dueling System

Not sure if its been mentioned here before but id really like to see some sort of Dueling System implemented in the game, i'm sure i'm not the only one with this idea as anyone who has ever played an MMO *cough "WOW" cough* probably has experienced this. Simply highlight a character press square or right click and scroll to the option. It would be a great way to kill time while waiting on DF or whatever and get some practice in for PvP.

If was only available to duel inside the Coliseum in Uldah (the little arena there) and nowhere else, then I'd say yes.

If you mean to duel anywhere, Then a big NO.

Yes! Please! If other players dont like the idea of it in public areas for lag or whatever their reason, then sure, make a dedicated dueling area. But please implement dueling

Don't worry about balancing the game for 1v1 pvp, it would just be great fun

Also, please please please change the starting time in the Wolves Den to 45seconds, or a minute at the longest.. Possibly 30 seconds if you have a premade team (full team team queueing together)

I hated that about other MMOs where some stupid brat with a chip on his shoulder keeps trying to pick a fight with me, which I ignore, and then proceeds to hassle me in whispers because I refused. I'm glad FFXI never had that nonsense, and I'm glad FFXIV doesn't as well. So please, no PvP dueling mode, unless it was specifically part of the Wolves' Den.

Hmm i can see where it would be a slight problem, i mean a massive amount of people dueling in a small area would create latency problems, but specific dueling areas are easily a fix for that. Also how about a 2v2 or 3v3 option in Wolves' Den?. I dont know it seems to me SE just got lazy and overlooked so many avenues.

We arent talking about open world pvp, ganking, etc. We just mean a formal duel request button, to have a friendly fight with a buddy.

There was nothing more annoying than to have a max level character spam you with duels as a level 5 in Goldshire.

Recieving duel requests could be disabled via the options menu. Problem solved
