Pharos Sirius - Last Boss - Siren (Scholar)

Tried (and I do mean 'tried') to get through Pharos Sirius last night. I'm a Scholar with full darklight and a relic +1, the group was well geared. We got through the first four bosses without any real problem.

Then we got to Siren. We wiped so many times, we timed out of the fight. This boss is the hardest healer check I've seen so far in the game, particularly for a Scholar.

Here are the mechanics:
She casts a "Charm" debuff. If the person she casts it on doesn't get to 100% health within 10 seconds, they start attacking the group and can't move for 10 seconds. If it happens to the healer, it's pretty much a guaranteed wipe.

She'll use an AOE Charm that can be avoided by running to the center, but she also randomly targets a non-tank group member with it many times through the fight. She also keeps a strong Bleed up on the tank, repeatedly casting it through the fight, so you have to juggle Leaching/healing the tank and also topping off whoever is charmed. While there are adds running around.

Then, at about 50% health, she starts casting Wounds on everyone at once, lowering healing efficiency by half - and you still have to get the group up to 100% health after every charm or risk wiping. She'll pair this with AE damage, so it is a race to use Leaches on everyone and then individually heal them up since Succor is not good for bringing a group back to full health.

Pair that with a vicious Ifrit-style charge, and adds that can paralyze you for 10 seconds straight, and you've got a hell of a fight. So, I'm welcome to any tips here, if anyone else has completed it, particularly as a Scholar.

Avoiding the crawling adds is about all you have to do as healer. They stunlock you which will result in getting behind in GCD fast. If it happens it might be a good choice to just let a DD die becourse you wont make it to top everybody and/or dispel after you´ve been stuned for some GCDs (as scholar) which will result in more fears and thus more stunlocks. Haven´t played this encounter as WHM yet but I bet it´s a walk in the park with him.

Tried this a few times too yesterday as SCH and I still have no idea how to keep everyone's health up while dodging adds, leeching off debuff and still attempting to pull off a succor that won't even come close to getting the party topped up in time. Maybe if I had micro-ed my fairy, it would've been easier but I highly doubt so. I do 350 each player a succor and 500 IF I'm lucky. How the hell am i supposed to top off a party in time with that. >< A well timed whispering dawn isn't going to help much either.

That was basically my experience. However, I did get caught in the crawling adds more than a few times, and I was very tired, so I'm going to try it again tonight. I had a few fights where it felt like I did nothing wrong, I was spamming heals the whole time and microing my faery, and yet the group was still losing health faster than I could keep it up, especially with all of the debuffs you have to constantly clear.

did this last night with a sch, took us 3 attempts.

-dps quickly on adds, the sergeants being a priority.
-the song that causes charm seems to affect tank and another dps. topping off this person clears the debuff.
-leeches leeches, and leeches.

It's a hard fight, but it became increasingly easier as everyone understoof the mechanics.

Siren is really annoying. Siren's song already reduces your amount of healing, and later on you'll get the heal debuff on top of the song, and as if that's not enough, there will be adds prowling at your feet to raise the chance of being "charmed".

Here's some things I found out about the fight when I did it with my friends today:

- The heal debuff move can be stunned.
- Hide right UNDER Siren when she moves to the center to cast her Song. You won't get hit. (Be careful toward the end though, since there will be adds spawning on top of you.)
- Ask DD to focus on the crawling adds ASAP. They are far more dangerous.

Killed Siren easily on 2nd try (ilvl 83 Scholar). You just have to do it right, so does your group mates.
Tank - Siren ofc - any adds possible.
DPS - Keep the adds down, nothing new there (Focus the ones crawling and keep them away from healer cause they "mezz" the target it hits until the "crawler" is dead)

As for you. Just keep up with cleansing.
If Charm = Lustrate.

When she hits Siren Song, well.. just start casting leeches asap and run Lustrate healing on tank meanwhile.

lustrate isn't effected by the healing debuff so, yea thar ya go

One of the things I found effective, thanks to a SCH in my LS, is to keep Eos on "Obey" and use an Eos Regen macro, Rouse + Fey Illumination + Whispering Dawn(iirc), to help with full party heals. Then, forcing Eos to cap one person while I succor or cap others. Hopefully that helps.
