I'm on the bit on the story where you have to...

Use the Duty Finder to undertake the guildhest "Hero on the Halfshell"

I'm in the correct area (black brush, in the red circle), I open DF, switch to Guildhests and.....

There are no duties available

What am I missing?

/edit - turns out that you have to actually do every single Guildhest prior before you unlock it, yay for level 50 content requiring you to do level 10 stuff.

Bummer. I wanted to save some of the guildhests for the other jobs I'm leveling up. I guess I'm screwed there.

Never done Guildhest before, so I tried to start up just so I can get past this quest, but every time I queue for "Basic Training: Enemy Parties" I get the window to accept the party and right after I hit "Accept" I get the message, "A problem has occurred with the Duty Finder server. Please try again in a few moments." and I get kicked from the queue. I've queue'd like 8 times or so now and every time I get the same message, anyone know what's wrong? Or am i just potentially screwed from finishing this quest at the moment?

You'll need to go through at least the level 30 hest for part of the main story quests.

the mentioned technical issue aside. I quiet like SE decisson to show the players those hests, all of em!
The show players the mechanics in this game and pretty well done btw. They even teach/tell you what to do.

You know the basics? Why bother it will cost you only a few hours and inbetween you help others getting better.

You still have the option of levelling another job and getting the first time bonuses on that. If you want to waste the exp on your current class, just to get to the king mog fight faster, it's entirely up to you.

I tried before end of year holydays to do Hero on the Halfshell and the queue time was always over 30minutes as tank..
I tried again yesterday, over 30 minutes as tank.

Something's wrong with this.

Considering I wager people are farming Hero on the Halfshell as tanks for a commendation or two so people can get their quest done... I can understand the wait time.
