Materia Market Crash

So with 2.1 most markets have stayed somewhat constant thus far on balmung, with a slight bump PvP-gear-tied goods like Electrum Ingots, but HOLY CRAP Craftsman Comp IV and Craftsman Command IV both dropped from 150-200k to 35-40k each. Any thoughts on what gives? Are people so desperate for housing theyre flooding the market at rock-bottom prices? Or is something else going on?

One of the story quest gives you the meteria. So people are selling it on the market, Expect after the majority of people finish the story line and sell em off for prices to go back up

I was a little surprised to discover that the story quests give 2 of these types of materia!

Not only the quest but I was chopping up a set of patricians and got several pieces of IV. They are much easier to obtain now.

Really hope those materia prices go back up. That was the last good way to get big money fast and be like "wow I just made 200k for nothing". With housing as expensive as it is and so much to do each day with the new content besides making gil, it would be nice having those spikes in income back every once in a while. Thinking you might get one of those also was probably the only thing to make spirit bonding something to look forward to.

So level 50 items now give tier 4s?

I didn't want to rise this thread from the dead but it's interesting. Comp 4s are entering 15k range and it might be there to stay. Commands at 35-44k. I don't know but when the legacy dudes come I can only imagine this market might be in more trouble. Not going to be cool if this crashes again.

I'm still holding on to a bunch of cracked materia I forgot I had in hopes that the 2.2 crafted gear will be somewhat useful.
