Thats some god like DPS.... you do more dps then our bard do in twintania...
From my experience War outdps Pld even with stances off. However we are talking about dps while tanking (since that's what you do in party content).
where did you get 230 dps?
maybe you can achieve that using all your cooldowns and off-gcd skills (like the silence one) at once, but war's sustained damage is way higher. both with shieldoath/defiance on and off
The rumor I've heard is that equally geared PLD/WAR come out with WAR on top by a mere 6%. I've never done extensive testing but it makes sense. WAR has a very slightly higher potency per global, given their combos, and more dmg cooldowns. While PLD has two off GCD attacks + FoF that closes that gap almost completely.
Again I haven't done any extensive testing myself... just what I've heard!

Last time I parsed on dummies, which was still in 2.0, my PLD and WAR were extremely close. I checked just using combos + oGCD attacks, popping cooldowns immediately as they became available, and ignoring fracture for both. I attacked until I became TP starved in both cases.
PLD in Sword Oath with 30 vit + DPS accessories: about 230 DPS.
WAR without Defiance with 30 str + DPS accessories (SE+BB rotation): about 255 DPS.
If my Paladin had been specced for strength at the time, DPS would have been nearly identical.
Warrior damage while tanking should be a bit lower in 2.1 considering the new rotation, but should still be a bit higher than Paladin.
Maximum possible DPS while off-tanking will still be about even, but since WAR will be expected to keep the SP/SE debuffs up and PLDs in Sword Oath should no longer be threat capped, I suspect WAR will actually end up doing a bit less damage than PLD in practice.

i hate what they did to overpower. i just feel like im playing wiffle ball very poorly, and not like im overpowering anything with a giant axe. I cant get behind this new .5 second animations or no-go thing because we'll never have any cool animations. our next move.. smack with axe!... and then our NEXT move.. smack with axe and SPARKLES... and then.. smack with axe and new colored sparkles. almost all of our moves look like auto attacks.
Have you ever used your warrior skills??
Storm's Eye, Steel Cyclone, Butcher's Block, Storm's Path... How do any of those look like an auto attack?
Sure heavy swing and skull sunder are less than amazing but that might be the intention.
I would like the old animation and speed for Overpower. The quick animation is awesome and all but the sound effects are still the old and they do not match up AT ALL. I have OCD and it is making the job nearly impossible for me to play. I know it isn't a huge thing for other people but for me it is making my OCD go crazy.
A fix to the sound would be fine as well. Either or.

The new animation and SFX timing is really strange. I have to watch for the numbers and the GCD to trigger just to make sure I did the move. If they're sticking with this timing, it really needs a new animation & new sound effects.I would like the old animation and speed for Overpower. Between the new LB rules and the 10% debuff there is no reason not to have a war in party which is a good thing. The next part is ensuring we want them tanking and it looks like the changes help with that. IB is now an excellent ability - for timed big attacks it is superior to rampart due to being able to pop it regularly (hold on to max stacks until the big hit is coming) obviously due to the short duration, against a constant barrage of high damage then rampart can be more useful.
Between that, vengeance, even thrill of battle (can potentially provide the buffer needed for a timed bit hit) it definitely seems lime the war is in a much better tanking place
Only thing I was disappointed with is I thought overpower was having a TP reduction, but maybe I just dreamed that
