Not that much. Seems like most of the people complaining are not even good enough to get purify. Been pvping since yesterday, and it's been a blast. We have been running MRD-BRD and My friend WHM who btw had just 2900hp when we started. He alone is a testament that all of you complaining are just bad. With him on the team we have lost just 14 of 100 games, won against some really though teams including double BLM and the standard SMN-BLM SCH-PLD, we even got a SMN on our own and rock a 80% win ratio on premades.
That said, It won't hurt to cut sleep to 20 or even 15 secs 1st time, and give BRD a 4 sec silence.
@ GYX: RLY? Swiftcast sleep ----> purify ----> surecast sleep -----> owned.

I'm not at all afraid to admit that I am new to the PvP world. I have a pretty large dislike of the entire field and really only thought to give it a chance here because it had potential to be different.
I've tried PvPing on both my SCH and SMN, I've got one win with each, died on the win with my SCH, and got the final kill with my SMN's kill. As it is, I refuse to participate until I get my THM to BLM so I can abuse the same Sleep method that keeps killing both me and practically every team I join, get a Melee Class as they seem to be the only thing worth PvPing on, or they get rid of the cast cockblocking. I DID happen to enjoy my fights, even the ones where I was merc'd at the beginning of the fight. For most of the casters, PvP isn't very balanced, favoring the two that can abuse the sleep spells.

It did take me a while to figure out about Surecast, but it doesn't really help me out much with a 2 to 20 in favor of losing. A lot of the times its because I'm put to sleep (About 13 of them I was put to sleep immediately and killed on the spot), the rest is because other than Ifrit all I have at my disposal is Bio on my Summoner. Lack of Instant Casts on the class really hurts
I am only capable of the entry level fights, I plan on trying the upper levels when I get to those points, but until its a little more balanced for the other magic classes, I'm inclined to agree that PvP needs fixing in certain aspects. Sleep, and other Status ailments need some type of nerf, while the Skills need to implement a Cast Cancel feature rather than always being knocked out of casting when hit. Until then, I'd rather wait until I'm ready to level up a Melee class before I get anything close to serious about PvP.
Wow...Post limitations SUCK!

Like I said, I don't run a sleep comp, and I have no problem with them, already rank 16 with over 200 wins, many of them against guess what? Exactly. L2 LOS, learn to predict cc patterns. Really, if that rotation you just pointed gets me, i blame it on myself for such a noobie move.

If you got slept once already, then what are you doing in front of the BLM again? He can't sleep you unless you're in front of him. That's how casting works in this game. I know shiz happens, but you can only make so many excuses. You should be running around him bootshining/dragon kicking his butt.@ GYX: RLY? Swiftcast sleep ----> purify ----> surecast sleep -----> owned.
So which one is it?
I've heard that Casters are OP and Casters suck because of interrupt..
Sounds like the casters that crying about interrupt are the people that can't play their job correctly in PvP.
I'm an iLvl88 PLD and do pretty well in PvP, but I heard that SMN is crazy good, so I dusted off the ole Veil of Wiyu and tried my hand. Got stun locked by MNK/WAR combo and died in 2 seconds. I suck at caster in PvP, but tear it up PvE. You need to find a class that you can excel at in PvP. Less QQ and more PewPew.
Sleep is fine, you just need more PvP Gear and Sleep Resist Materia. With the iLvl55 PvP gear, sleep resists sometimes to under 7 seconds and also completely resisted. In combination with Purify and further Wolf Pts, Sleep will be more balanced.
PvP is fine.

I don't believe that those are a lot of options for all of the PvP sections though. PvP gear from what I've seen in the shops require level 50 to even equip, and that means its useless to those who have to play in 30 and 40 PvP sections.
Casters are fine...if you have Sleep. Summoners are good with Ifrit and considering you can outrun opposing WHM/BLM with sleep from what I've seen. I've taken out a Tank as a SMN. Ifrit locked on him, Bio, Surecast + Bio 2, Surecast + Miasma, Bio Spam to keep it refreshed.
I can't do squat as a SCH though. Stun raped sleep locked target by entire team punching bag. I find it fun despite, just wish the cast wasn't interrupted that easily so that we had other options to fight with other than needing to rely on the PvP Skills and Instant Cast Spells.
...With Eye for an Eye was self targeting...At least I can TRY to help healer as SMN XD
I also would not have learned a few tricks that I now use if it weren't for the PvP, I don't hate it and still attempt it every so often between story missions and other things to unwind a bit. Still only have 2 wins and more losses than I care to share.
