Either you kill the add's before they use wicked wheel, or the melee targeted can run to the ranged classes because the damage gets split. (and the fights very easy for healers as long as nobody is getting one shot.

When you see the mob casting friction move, wait for wicked wheel, move back. Simple

Ok. Now I just pop keen flurry -> jump in and beat the shit out of suparna. Sure is better than waiting for the tank to pull her over. Works like a charm.
This is what I'm doing too. I pop Keen Flurry and Foresight and then jump to kill Suparna next to Garuda. The Wicked Wheel then hits for 3k when I have 5k health, sure it's not the right way but it's definitely faster.
Specifically:
During phase 1- prior to the first spiny plume- Suparna uses friction, then Garuda uses her cleave, cleaves again, then uses wicked wheel. Just move between the first and second cleaves.
During phase 2- after the first spine plume- Suparna uses friction, then Garuda uses ONE cleave, then uses wicked wheel. So move when Suparna's friction animation goes off.
This is a simple fight as MNK. I always go MNK and on the third cycle we always kill her. Could be faster but some of the other members are not yet geared to the i85+ position.
Here is what I do. On the second sisters (with tornados) MT pulls Garuda and Soprano to NW. Healers and Ranged stand SE and OT and my self (MNK) SW. I dps Chirada with the OT while the ranged and mages kill Suprana. Once dead, they assist me in killing what's left of Chirada. Then we wait for jump kill spiny and hide. Pretty much rinse and repeat.
With this strat we win all the time. As I am killing the other sister, I never have to be next to Garuda beating on her unless she is in the middle. Overall this strategy is safe and works like a charm![]()

Yeah, I started a party finder group and won 3 Garuda EX's in a row after I suggested this strat. But what I do is LB1 Chirada, it always builds up by the time you get to her, just makes it a bit faster. This is a simple fight as MNK. I always go MNK and on the third cycle we always kill her. So basically what i've gathered by the first two pages of posts.. Melee in garuda XM is a joke. Unless they are way overgeared (the person playing melee has melee as their main) and most likely dont need anymore gear for their job and are just running it for the other weapons for other jobs then pretty much melee is terrible to bring into garuda.
I am a main Paladin and i second monk I tried this fight only a few times (about 3-4) and every single time i couldnt dps suparna without dying to wicked whirl (since my monk is ~not~ full i90 and its my secondary.. even with one of my i90 tank rings on.)
Each time suparana would not go down because without me the dps wasnt high enough.
This is probably the first time ever i've been disappointed in SE in such a regard. You basically as a party leader put extra strain on healers and bring a higher risk of a wipe by bringing melee into this fight.
If i was a party leader i would not want a melee in my party especially seeing how much i got my butt kicked by that attack.. every time.. Just bring BLM's and BRD's and call it a win..
This discussion is not really a matter of "can" or "cant" its a matter of most often than not a melee will die trying to dps the sister next to garuda...
There is not a good reason for a melee to be eating wicked wheel, mayyyyyyyyyyyybe if you only had melee DPS it would get complicated, but it is (sadly) just a memorization issue like titan. "Oh there's that move, let me hide til wheel goes off."
You do not need to be i90 if you aren't getting hit by an avoidable mechanic.
The masses do prefer to stack ranged damage, for obvious reasons. You don't even need a melee LB to win easily, but melee definitely has a place in there.
