What ability are you on about when you say Mercy Stroke? MS is the MRD cross-class skill that can be used under 20% and its free and OCD. I presumed you were on about Circle of Scorn from the potency, but then again this is also free and OCD so I guess not.

Presuming shield swipe is up (which isn't all the time) then it's a slight dps gain over RoH combo, but it's really rather negligible and like you said, maintaining RoH debuff is more important.

Flash spam is boring. RoH spam is boring. But that's PLDs ideal move set depending on whether you want ST or MT threat. There's no getting around trying to make PLDs rotation exciting. It isn't.

EDIT: Not to say that PLD isn't a fun class or that there's no challenge to it, just it's rotation isn't one of those. A certain challenge/stress comes from just being a tank.

There's no getting around trying to make PLDs rotation exciting. It isn't.

Sorry, meant Fracture, not Mercy Stroke, fixed it. My point was, you have more opportunity to throw those in with the increased enmity buff. It's not so much an argument that tanking isn't boring (people will have their opinions), but I think it's no less boring than it was before, and if you were fine with enmity in 2.0, try throwing in Mercy Stroke, or using shield swipe more cause of the little extra buffer SE gave you. Both do more DPS than the average of your RoH combo over 3 GCDs.
