FFXIV isn't a niche market...it hardly counts as a market...of any kind.

Hell I enjoy the game for the most part, I got a little tired of the grind and took a few months off but hell I did that with XI as well. Gave the game some time to fill with new content or fixes and picked up where I left off.
I'll be back when the combat patch hits like a good bunch of others, if it becomes more enjoyable to grind I may do more than I would normally.
I don't think it's a bad game as much as I think it's just simply unfinished.
u are right , there isnt a mmo on the market that offer what FFXIV offers.......no1 even come close .............I was annoyed the first few hours i played this game, but it grew on me and now im a fan.
Its true this game does not have what other MMOs on the market have, but it does have qualities that no other MMO out there has, I would hate to see FFXIV turned into "just another mmo" like xi was.
As it stands, FFXIV offers a unique experience, there is no mmo on the market that even comes close.
If you want a standard mmo experience like...group all the time, join a guild, power level to do "end game" antics and talk stupidities in world chat, then why not play a standard mmo? The market is literally flooded with them.
This game dares to be different and i respect that, sure its flawed, has many problems but its still the most unique mmo out there, i hope it stays that way, but im not holding my breath.
The games unique aspects got barried under with all the flaws. Thats why so many people hate the game.I was annoyed the first few hours i played this game, but it grew on me and now im a fan.

I'm not a troll I'm just the voice of truth :P
This thread in its 8-9 post so far has attracted all but 1 of the forum trolls, impressive.
The last positive thread I made, asked what they players felt "right" with XIV I got an overwhelming "WTF" 's
Pretty discouraging actually, I think twice now about making a positive comment, whether it's worth the potential flaming and negativity or not.
I wouldn't give a flying f*#& what anyone else has to say about my opinion, and neither should you. Let them flame. You have a right to post positive statements if you choose. Don't ever be afraid of saying what's on your mind. It's not like you're going to be friends or know those trolling dorks in real life.
Anyway, back on topic.. I think FFxiv has great potential, but I agree with what Greencactuar said. I think FFxiv's uniqueness and ability to not be another WoW clone was overshadowed by the many flaws that weren't fixed during alpha and beta phases.
And your highest class is alchemy 41 and Arc 36? What are you doing when you log on? Have you found some secret fun thing to do? Are you counting rocks or trying to get /hug everyone achievement?
