Thunder II is better with the single target rotation imo.

run bray all the time for novus/animus and for aoe ive just been doing
raging strikes > flare > transpose > flare > flare > transpose > flare > flare > transpose > flare > flare
repeating until its all dead
no brd just manipulating refresh on tics
Its not always the highest dps by any means. It all depends on how quickly the packs are dying and how long that dps window of opportunity is open. Many groups will kill those packs much faster than the amount of time it takes to cast two flares after transpose at the end of your rotation.
Often it will be faster and with higher dps to drop at least 1 Fire2 or maybe even 2 Fire2 before beginning with the first 3 Flares before transpose. Adding the Fire2 or 2 Fire2s in the beginning still fits under Raging Strikes with the first 3 Flares and takes less time to produce. If you're with a weak group then perhaps the straight flares will produce more damage over a longer window but if you're with a good group then the mobs will be dead waaay before you will ever have time to sit there and cast two flares after transpose at the end of your rotation.
Totally agree, however with a decent party you should only use either convert or mega ether for a double flare, if you use both you won't have any cooled down for the 2nd pack after first boss. Its not always the highest dps by any means. So many blinded by the "flare only" rotation lol.
For numbers sake may you please test Ice 3> F3>F2>F2>F2> Flare>Convert>Flare> Mana Pot> Swiftcast Flare (and thank you in advance if you test)
I start with ice 3 for 2 reasons
a) not sure if random tanks can hold agro so this allows them to build up
b) casting Ice 3 first gets you a extra fire 2 in the rotation
Not sure because if gear (ilv 94 atm) but with the above all enemies are dead in brayflox HM (pulling all enemies up to first boss)
And to keep it more simple i did not add Quelling and Raging Strikes, both of which i normally use
Do not forget AF3 is 80% dmg and Umbral Ice is -10%, i do not have the link for this but know it has been said before
