did Thundercloud get changed? THe new tooltip says 5% chance after each tick, but doesnt mention critical hit. But I thought at first it was 5% after each tick that critted? I may be just remembering wrong but didnt crit help our thundercloud proc frequency before?

I dunno, and am not complaining, but it seemed like my thundercloud was proccing like MAD yesterday in pharos and WP ....

in the repeat when i use this i just cast fire3 when i get my first tick of mana. Pre patch for the time i casted fire3 i had one more tick gained (yet to test post patch) then i could use fire2 1-2 times before cast flare again

About speed of cast, why don't you just press the button 0.5 sec before the end of the cast so that it start instantly from keyboard/mouse/joypad?

It isn't possible to do that because of the changes to ticks. You wouldn't get your next tick because you lose Umbral Ice way too quickly now. I usually start clicking when the timer is at 0.30, but I found if I just clicked once it didn't go quick enough for insta-tick. Not to mention I couldn't do it with Transpose. It just wouldn't use it if I did this.

I'd say the best AoE rotation is probably "Fire III > Fire II > Flare > Transpose > Repeat", which is the last one in the list so far. About 400-450 DPS with the gear I have. At least, that's what I've found so far. I also got to tidy the post up, but yeah... We also can't really spam Flare unless Swiftcast and Convert are up.


Also, to people talking about the ticks being broken, I thought so too. However, if you take awhile to figure them out (go sit at dummies and spam rotations) it becomes manageable.

So for single target Fire III X3 is the best? I had troubles putting thunder in there, which was easier on Fire III > Fire I spam > Blizz III > Thunder > repeat. What's your opinion?

absolutely not

He had best results only cuz he was ignoring firestarter procs

Any BLM should know that only fire3 is bad way to play class

Want to say thanks to the OP for this. I was stressing a little over the loss of double dipping fire 3 and flare, and while this method isn't quite as fun as seeing that flare cast bar shoot across the screen, it's still pretty fun, and effective.

Curently lvl 42 but started a new char on another server as well and will be going blm again
F3>F2 Spam> Ice 3> repeat ?
Only used Transpose when i was thm but see it is still used.
And yeah i only use F3 once in any rotation, it is just not worth the extra wait while you can be sending off F1 or F2 multiple times in that timeframe

Nah man. You need to be using Fire III > Fire (w/ Fire III procs) > Blizzard III as your Single Target Rotation. OP was wrong in saying it's 180 DPS because it's clearly not 180 DPS. He just didn't use the procs for some reason (40% chance on a proc) so it seems low. Weird that spamming Blizzard III is only 20 DPS less than spamming Fire with no Firestarter Procs.

Edit For anything less than 44 I would use Fire to low MP> Transpose > Blizzard and repeat. Thats the best way to go about this.

OP was testing without procs for ticks purposes, not to reinvent our rotations. He just happened to post his raw data without the procs, which is easier to understand on a basic math level, and yet some people missed that.

I actually do use that rotation, i meant for aoe like 4 or more enemies
I am getting closer to getting flare however, at least on one character
