well i prefer armor degradation over SP loss everyday of the week ,it was RETARDED in FFXI deleveling
Repair is just another annoying mechanic , because the NPC only repairs to 75% and cost a kidney to repair....

It seems like they're "streamlining" (read cutting them out) all the crafting/gathering activities because apparently there are no game designers working at SE who can design fun minigames.
it takes 20 secs to do 1 min under lag And is automatic. Kinda annoying to se ppl cry in an MMORPG when they have to be part of the community. Jeez why u play mmo if u don't wanna socialize
Wait, it only takes one minute to open the gear screen, unequip your gear, close the gear screen, open the inventory screen, scroll down to the right item, click the item, click repair item, do the kneeling animation, hit enter to do the repair, do the standing animation, re-open the gear screen, and re-equip your gear?
Okay, I'll buy that. Of course, that assumes you're repairing your own gear. The other option is worse:
Open the gear screen, unequip the gear, close the gear screen, open the inventory screen, find the item, click the item, click seek repairs, set a price (hope you have room in your bazaar), and. . . wait. Granted, you might be waiting 30 seconds. . . or you might be waiting a few hours. All depends on who's around and who's checking bazaars.
True. And having to put the gear you want to have repaired overnight on one of your precious retainers is just retarded. Well, the whole retainer ward stuff is retarded.Wait, it only takes one minute to open the gear screen, unequip your gear, close the gear screen, open the inventory screen, scroll down to the right item, click the item, click repair item, do the kneeling animation, hit enter to do the repair, do the standing animation, re-open the gear screen, and re-equip your gear?

For people who wants to scrap it, what did you want, ez mode?
It's frustrating? How can a game be frustrating in the first place, and on the second, putting your equipments in your bazaar for repairs for a good amount of gil is a good way that can unlock things like Communication, Sense of successfulness, money gain,...
For God's sake, you are NOT constricted to be independent. Let crafters, gatherers and warriors do their job for you in exchange for gil&goods, build relationships with other players, socialize!
If you can't repair something, let a crafter do it! There's not a problem at all on that.
Nobody said there's no room for improvement. But scrapping it? Why? 5 min out of your day for every 5 hours of play time is not a big deal.Wait, it only takes one minute to open the gear screen, unequip your gear, close the gear screen, open the inventory screen, scroll down to the right item, click the item, click repair item, do the kneeling animation, hit enter to do the repair, do the standing animation, re-open the gear screen, and re-equip your gear?

Repairs are nota bad idea, and no people don't ignore it. I may leave my weapon damaged during lvling session if I can't repair it myself, but as soon as I get home (Ul'dah) I seek repair and go to sleep, next morning I find it repaired for fair amount of Gil.
Problem is, what if you can't afford leaving yourFFXIV on all night. And many other concerns. Which bring the point that the system need improvements as mentioned above. Improvements that I welcome:
1- Increase Bazaar slots, or have repairs in separate tab if possible.
2- Make NPC fix items up to 100%
Oh, please don't get me wrong. I'm not saying it should be scrapped, either. My post was more in response to Kilta's claim that "it takes 20 seconds, or a minute with lag." Which, I think we all know, is. . . inaccurate.
It's not a bad idea, agreed. I just wish it weren't such a mess of clicks and button presses; but such is the state of the UI overall, at this point.
My mistake, judging by your post's general message I just assumed you were in favor of scrapping it. No idea it was aimed at Kilta. I apologize.Oh, please don't get me wrong. Still, anything Kilta says is usually ignored by most people. I somehow doubt she's even gotten to the point of needing to repair anything in the game yet lol. Considering her 2k+ post count before she even played the game for the first time, it's hard to take anything she says seriously.
