Anyone else Feel a bit Mislead by the "player" housing?

Ok... So of all the new stuff with update 2.1, the one that excited me the most was the Housing. Its the one thing (outside of nice looking armor/weapons) that i would have sank quite a bit of time, effort, and gil into. I have fun dressing up a house for my character, using it to bring a bit of 'life' to her so-to-speak, as well as using it as a place to hang out with a few friends I have in-game.

So when i heard about the Housing being added into FFXIV with 2.1, I got excited.

Now im frustrated.

After looking into the Housing district's a bit, and looking a the prices for each plot, I realized that they did NOT add in 'player' housing. What they added in, is GUILD housing. (or Free Company Housing, whichever term you wish to use).

And here's why.



Yup, you see right. Almost 8 'million' gil. for a 'small' plot within the housing area. 8 'MILLION'. And after waiting for it to 'devalue' to see how much that ridiculous price drops.



Yup... it only dropped 11,200 gil.

At that current rate, it will take 118 'Devaluations' for it to reach 0 for the price. Or 30 DAYS, for those who don't want to do the math (Unless the amount it devalues by goes up with each cycle)

Which means that no 'average' player will even be able to think of getting a house of their own, till near the end of June. And even then, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if every single lot is taken up by then.

Either by:
1) The Major Free Company's.
2) People who feel 'pushed' towards relying on RMT's in order to get the Gil needed to get a house for their character.

Anyone else feel a bit mislead about the 'housing' that was being added in? Expecting/Hoping to see 'player' housing, only to realize what has actually been added is Guild/Free Company Housing?

I feel like they made it pretty clear that this was Free Company housing and that Player Housing is coming in a later patch. It was said an awful lot. o.O

No, because we knew in advance that it was only FC housing coming first.

I feel like they made it pretty clear that this was Free Company housing and that Player Housing is coming in a later patch. It was said an awful lot. o.O

Apparently i didnt read the fine-print.

What i 'did' do, was watch the patch video, were it mentioned "Housing" not "Company Housing". And Showed only 1 person setting things up, not 5+ people all gathered around watching it happen.

Guess their video gave one impression, while they secretly meant another, which was only clarified in the patch notes.

As disappointed as I am with the housing prices. They did seem to make it pretty clear that it was going to be for FCs. I do feel mislead, but for other reasons.

Sorry to hear that you felt mislead but I think they made it clear that FC housing comes first in most of their posts/and patch notes. You can wait for a later patch or join an fc with a housing if you really want one.

They have already stated that Player Housing (coming in 2.3!) Will be a LOT cheaper than FC Housing.

Think of the poor folks who log in and find the FC housing costing in the hundreds of millions.

I think we, on the forums, take for granted that everybody knows everything. Just because we read the patch notes and letters and all that.

Imagine logging in today and getting hit with the bombshell that is the cost of a house. At least we had all weekend to chat/argue about it.
