SE, give me a reason too keep playing FFXIV

Now that Bard has been butchered to uselessness, I need some convincing of why I should continue to subscribe to this game.

I played Bard because I wanted to play a ranged dps. I had a 75 RNG on FFXI and it was a blast.

I don\\'t mind playing a somewhat support role but the songs don\\'t stack and there are a total of four songs, and they are mostly useless for the majority of the game.

I have invested a lot of time and tomes into my Bard and now I feel like its pointless to go forward. I do not want to play any other class save for Samurai (which I was also 75 on FFXI).

SE, please give me some reason to not jump ship and play TES: Online when it launches next year. Some info on Ranger, Samurai, or giving Archer some differentiating powers would be convincing. Something...

I would even be fine going into a full support role if they gave bards some debuff songs, attack and defense buff songs, and let us stack two or three at a time.

I will never dare go to Coil T1-T5 or the upcoming T6+ without a bard. I have no idea what you are talking about, your job is the only job in game which is very hard to replace. Your mana songs when healers needs it, Foe when BLMs & SMNs need to blow something off this game planet. Your TP song when DRG run out low from AoE. Your job is important regardless of the nerf, and among the 5 DPS classes you are the hardest to replace.

Oh of course, there is always the silence when there is only 1 PLD in the group.

I've seen tons of bards today in duty finder. All of them seemed to still be doing just fine.

Nerfs suck, they always suck and raw DPS nerfs probably weren't very justified for the bard.

But suggesting that you've been "nerfed into uselessness" is unnecessary absurdism and melodrama. It's just not helpful.

If you played bard solely for dps, i can understand you. But if your "somewhat" fine with playing support then isnt it fine? You still do dmg while supporting and like many peoples said, bard is irreplacable since bard is the only job in the game atm able to give the support they are giving (mana, tp songs etc).

Seriously not a single person on these forums understands bard at all. Its really painful seeing people write how its fine you still have Mana song I don't know what you're crying about, everyone needs Mana song! We're voicing ourselves because that's all we have and that's hardly support that's just one skill that is remotely useful. SE said they wanted the bard to support but when the patch came and they nerfed the damage we could do they never gave us anything to support with, in fact it's quite the opposite they took a supportive effect away from the bard by removing 10% Damage reduction from RoD and replaced it with a completely useless affix which is -10% enemy evasion. I don't care if warrior's now have that debuff, my class lost utility which was in its nature.

If SE's reasoning for saying bard is still useful and needed just because they can give mana is the only reason they see us still getting teams then they need to get us some real support skills.

Yeah, the nerfs suck. They hurt the lowest DPS in the game, they took away Rain of Death, blahblahblah. We're still useful in Coil, our burst damage is still good (just not as good), and we still have songs and silence. It's not very fun eating bigger nerfs than any other class, while half the other classes were certainly buffed to a significant degree.

Wanna feel better about BRD? Go try PVP.
