Help deleting character

OK, I already put in a help desk ticket for this, but hoping somebody knows something that I am overlooking.

I have 2 service accounts. One is my old Beta(account #2), one that is my current (account #1). The Beta is inactive but it still shows my old character. I have friends that are on the server #2's character belongs to. The characters on #1 and #2 are named the same. Therefore, it will not let me transfer my character from my current server to the server #2 is on without renaming. I do not want to rename my character. I want to delete and cancel the #2 account. When I cancel the #2 account, the char is still listed and I have the option to "reactivate" I don't want to reactivate, I want it deleted permanently.

I tried logging into account #2 to delete the character but it tells me that the account is not active. Duh.

Any ideas? I don't want to have to pay a subscription fee for the account, just to delete the character. That's stupid.

You won't be able to anyway. Old names are not reusable to avoid impersonation.

Names of V1 characters are permanently locked to the account on which they were created even if the character bearing that name is deleted, so only characters created on that account can be given that name. SE did this to ensure V1 players didn't 'lose' the names they used in V1 when V2 launched.

So, even if you manage to delete the character, which as you've found out can only be done in-game, you'd not be able to achieve what you're trying to.

This isn't a 1.0 character. I created it in the Beta for 2.0 I wasn't able to delete the character because the account was disabled when the Beta ended. I chatted with SE Tech support last night. They informed me that the only way to delete the character would be to apply a new registration code to the service account to reactivate it. Then I could delete it. Even then, you are telling me that once a character name is created, it can never be used again on the same server by a different person.

Just FYI, you are incorrect. I found the game for half off and went ahead and got a new registration key. Activated the other service account and deleted the unwanted character. I submitted my transfer application and it went through without any hiccups. It was just now completed so I have my original name on the server I want.

So if anyone wonders if you can delete a character on another server and replace it with another account and use the same character name, you can. I understand them locking 1.0 names, but this was a 2.0 beta. It cost me $15 that I shouldn't have had to spend but oh well, live and learn.

A possibility. Before going through with this I tested something first. My friend had a beta character on his server that he deleted before it was locked. So I was going to attempt to create a new character on that server with his deleted character's name. Well, somebody else already did. So I took that as my answer.
