It's frustrating as a WHM. I don't have the defense to withstand the inevitable 4-on-1 assault because my party members won't (or can't) stun long enough to at least let me get something off or break line of sight.
Speaking of line of sight, why is it that I'm still getting shot through things? Why is it that melee's reach is the same as a low-range spell I have?
I play SCH today and pvp a fair few fight solo, half made group and premade group. I only pvp like 21/22 fight today, and i win like 11/21or22 fight. the sleep is really annoying but once you figure out a way to deal with it is pretty simple.
Some SCH said all they use is lushrate true i use it a fair few times but i did use physick alot too. and you manage to keep team off sleep/stun they will pretty ignore you. by then your team would have pretty much won the fight. I say if the enemy team can't kill healer in 20 second ish is pointless, for SCH that is. i mean you got 6 uninterrupted healing is pretty hard to kill. (surecast twice, swiftcast, lushrate) and if you get the caster pvp spell that is 5 more additional heal for rank 0.
leech have 1second cast times kinda hard to interrupt. ofcourse it also depend on your team as well. and learn to kite the melee DPS and use miasma II. which allow your dps and tank to kill their dps, and hopefully win you the match.![]()
I played swtor as my main mmo - started out as a dps pve'er and after 2 years preferred being a pvp healer.
My main annoyance with pvp right now is that all damage interrupts casts. Basically end up relying mostly on Lustrate since its the only instant heal. And Eos. OMG Eos. I had one match tonight where half my party was dead, and they had 3 alive. One of them stayed on our tank, and the other 2 were after me. I just ran in circles within Eos's range and kept casting embrace on myself. By the time they realized they needed to kill Eos, I had rezed another party member and gotten them to full health.
I foresee myself having to use swiftcast and surecast a lot more than in pve.
The saving grace for scholars is that they are essentially 2 healers in one, and that ups the ante a bit for your party and adds one more thing the opposing side has to kill (increasing your odds).
Considering the following myself as a Conjurer (not sure about Scholar):
Level 30 bracket, Conjurer.
Stacking Vitality and Parry accessories (cause I just need to live long enough to heal someone).
Borrow the Lancer's Keen Flurry.
Borrow the Pugilist's Featherfoot.
Borrow the Marauder's Foresight.
Borrow the Thaumaturge's Surecast and Swiftcast.
Trying to Repose as soon as I can.
Sometimes a combination of Fluid Aura, then Repose. Some melee forget to switch to their ranged attack after they get knocked back and that 0.5 second advantage of "Oh shoot" may be the difference between your sleep landing.
But you're right, it's incredibly stressful.
I imagine the PvP skill for 90% evasion or the gladiator's Tetsudo to reduce incoming damage by 30/50% will serve the healer well.
Reminiscence: Oh Huttball, how awesome you are...LOL. PVP aka Protect/Focus the Healer
Not sure what you were expecting, bro. In a mob group, your party focuses down the healer first, too, yeah?
PVP is where healers learn and develop their "kiting" skills. LOL (sarcasm) :P
In a TEAM DEATH MATCH, the only thing a healer can do is try to outlast the other team's healer. Haha. The only time it's fun being the healer in pretty much any PVP is when killing IS NOT the primary objective -- ie. Huttball in SWTOR.
Either we'll figure out how to survive and contribute as healers, or healers will just stop coming to PVP. Since every match requires two healers perhaps the queue will slow down so much for everyone that they will be forced to revisit balance for healers.
I allways liked evasion tanks or leech tanks like swtor´s assasin or even more lotro´s warden. No big difference to a pvp healer. I will definitly que up as one. Why should I play with a class that is getting ignored? I allready got a pve DD.
I have yet to try this out but the same idea occurred to me. When you go WHM it diminishes the amount of X class skills you can use by 5 and makes many unavailable completely. Taking off that soul and adding in these skill would give you more survivability in theory, but you would lose some healing power. It comes down to which you want to use. The classes are still technically their own stand alone job in themselves due to their added X classing ability so I'm going to give this a shot later today. I'd appreciate some feedback if anyone else attempts this method as well.
