Housing Areas - Gridania insanely amazing, the others... dull?

I just browsed the Ul'dah and Gridania housing areas and it feels like going from the slums to the most beautiful area in the world. It's incredible how much amazing work the team must have put into Gridania's housing! I would happily spend my "off days" hanging around here. I genuinely am reluctant to have to leave it just to do other things!

...but I can't help but feel it's so, so insanely more beautiful than the other zones (I checked out Limsa during the test phase a couple of months or so ago) that I actually feel it's unbalanced. As in... I literally can't think of any reason why anyone would opt for the other two. Am I the only person who feels this way? Are we going to see 20 Gridania wards before we see Ul'dah and Limsa cap their first ward?

I love how different you can make areas, but you could have at least tried to make Ul'dah remotely pretty. It should have been in the sand around a beautiful oasis with palm trees or at the very least cacti. Instead it's... brick walls. Brick streets. And both streets and walls are empty. Wow. It's actually disheartening. >_> There's a waterfall, but it's only viewable from certain areas and again, it's fairly lifeless overall.

How do you even get to the areas? I haven't gotten to play much but I wanted to check them out when it's my weekend tomorrow

No reason to go there honestly since no one can afford a house ATM. I will check it out in 3 months.

Personally I prefer the Goblet to the other two , I think it's personal preference :P.
