Thread: [PS3] Game constantly crashes after patch 2.1

Have you tried playing anything else (although why would you!) to make sure it's not your PS3 playing up? I get random lockups on both my original fat and newer slim PS3's and mainly only when playing FFXIV, but it's worth trying something else for 30mins to rule out a possible hardware fault.

I can confirm this. I'm having the same problem with my PS3 after this patch. Please do something...

Well touch wood, I've not had a freeze so far on patch 2.1. But I've had so many previously when playing FFXIV and very randomly. Sometimes after teleporting or mounting and other times just walking in a unpopulated area. I've also had the issue where the game just resets back to the XMB with no warning or error messages (this tends to happen on area transitions).

I just think this is so deep in the coding for the PS3 version and happens so randomly that they will never fix it
Fingers crossed the PS4 version runs better!!

You were certainly lucky then, I've had crashes on every version from the beta to current date but like I said it's very random. I can play for a full week and nothing happens and then one day it can crash several times in a row.

Looks like I spoke too soon, crashed within 5 mins of logging in last night, I had just initiated a teleport. When I could finally log back in (after lengthy PS3 disc check) it loaded me in the area I was trying to teleport to.

I'm also consistently crashing. Game freezes and bricks the PS3. Have to do a hard reset every time. This happens within 1-2 hrs of gameplay. Also checked with other games and they do not freeze or crash the PS3.
