As Kayvindra noted, many of them end up bound to different commands for combat. Some shortcuts get the axe as a result. The 2.1 setup is too condensed in my opinion. Some happy medium should be found between 2.0 and 2.1.

I don't mind the new menus, because I prefer compact nested lists to sprawling icon layouts. But I still think SE should give people the option.
That said, the following argument simply doesn't hold water:
Ctrl, Alt, and Shift (and any combination thereof) can be used for hotkeys, so it's not like people lose custom hotkeys by reassigning the defaults. For example, I use Ctrl+R for return and Ctrl+T for teleport. The only reason I still use the menus at all is to select items that I haven't yet bound. Hotkeys are always quicker for keyboard users than clicking.
