So far I've done two treasure hunts and they've been a lot of fun! I think the rewards are fair and it lets us apply the DoL in a different way.
My only suggestion is that there is an in-game timer be added that lets us know when we can next mine/log/fish for the map.
It can be added to our "Timers" menu to keep things simple. ^^

So wait can you do each of the three gathering professions every 18 hours? o-o Also I've been having pretty poor luck finding a map as a Botanist.. Though it was nodes about a certain level and it wasn't the unspoiled nodes? Sorry for the noobish questions haven't had a lot of time to prod into this >_<

You can an get the maps from lvl40+ nodes.
It is one map per 18hrs. It doesn't matter which one you use to get your map. Also, you can only have one deciphered map at a time.
However, you can actually decipher more than one map per 18hrs since the maps are tradable/sellable.

Very true, our FC has been gathering them up and spawning 6-8 depending on who can. Payouts are not bad at all, yesterday one of them gave everyone ~5k and 15 myth. Today we spawned several Alpha mobs, the morbol one netted us 8 potash. Easy to do and literally creates gil from thin air, what's not to like.

Yeah, my fc is turning it into a weekly event for housing funds. Not going to put us near a large house, but it will make a medium house easier since it is a money tree.
