I really despise lowmanning things, and I pray they have some kind of alliance feature in the future.
8 people is way way too low for any kind of endgame.
There is nothing epic about lowmanning things.

8 members in a party is not too low. When you had 15 members, the individual contribution of any one person was too low and it led to people not being invested in the fight.
With 8 people, each person contributes a little over 10% to the fight, and each individual can make a significant difference in overall party effectiveness.
Probably because 1 healer could keep the entire group of 15 alive. Split the groups and allow alliances and the tactics will be different. Honestly allowing massive AoE heals with the same mana cost as a single heal was a retarded decision in the first place.8 members in a party is not too low. Content designed around a certain # of people is relative. When we're talking about simple tank and spank fights like all we've seen so far, of course contribution per member is going to be low. All you do is taunt, heal, and spam your WS BR's. There are alot more interesting ways for large groups of people to participate in a fight.
Where the horsebirds at?!

That may be true in some instances but not all are equal. Let's be honest not everyone is a good player. Whether it's 8 or 20. When you add more difficult scenarios to the playing field it should be a matter of wiping or not. And I agree each individual "CAN' make a significant difference but doesn't necessarily mean they will. Hence the picking of the "Elite 8".8 members in a party is not too low. Indeed. I have seen some horrible people playing this game, but that doesn't mean we should encourage it. For the most part I blame the crappy leve system and lackluster battle mechanics in general for not teaching people how to actually "play" their character while the level up to rank 50.
However, just because there are crappy people playing, doesn't mean we should design content around them. We should design content so that it will inspire the bad players to want to become good. We should design the game to teach people how to play well.
In a party of 20, each person is only contributing 5% to the overall battle effectiveness. If the difference between victory and getting wiped is 5%, that is waaaaay too narrow. Having a party of 20 and getting wiped just because one person sucks? That's kinda harsh, and would be a nightmare to balance.
BTW, Fate, is that you?
Nope sorry I don't even know who Fate is. Red Fox on Bodhum! I completely agree with your statement about bad players who want to become good. Majority of bad players probably think they are good already so they need a slap in the face with something hard. I would love a dps meter.. while it creates elitism it also creates better players overall. I'd rather deal with elitist than bad players who think they are good.Indeed.
