    hello,

im just hoping that these are kinda test instances. see how we like them and how the mechanics operate.

i think after the cap gets raised no one will care to run these dungeons anyway.

LOL hard mode, heroic mode. FF doesnt need that. leave that crap in wow

anyway. i am hoping that in the future, dungeons will take 16 and 24 man alliances. ala sky, dyna ,etc

i believe this will just be content. we have no idea what this will be like. SE will be able to make adjustments as necessary.

FF11 was all hard mode imo, and alot of fun. wow-dorks cant hang. so they leave

You are entitled to your opinion. FFXI "was" a lot of fun yes but then they made it too easy. I would hardly call FFXI hard mode. The only time I remember it being hard was when new HNM/Instances/COP came out and no one knew how to tackle them. That's about the only time and I played for 7 years.

Let's hope these are not test instances because i'm sure that many are getting tired of playing the beta going on 9 months now? I mean really?! There is just too much competition out there. It really sucks with each and every patch I have in-game friends who leave because they take a very long time to fix/add new things. I for one am staying no matter what till Jan 1st of 2012. If it's not good by then and the majority of things are not fixed i'm gone. Seven months is plenty of time to dust off this gem and let it shine.

On a side note I hope SE markets the crap out of this game because that is what they are lacking. They should be doing what Valve does. Billboards, TV spots, magazines etc. I want new players to join so I can enjoy a more immersive world.

yea so i have herd. FF11 went way casual. idk i quit long ago
and your right, sorry for the personal opinion.

so what is SE to do? normal and hardmode? how will that effect the player base? will it attract new players?
how will it effect linkshells? 8 man raids?
actually im all for w/e they need to do to get more players. i have had alot of friends leave also.
i log on a couple time a week. a few friends are on. say hello do some leves and thats it.

i guess it doesnt really matter as long as SE gives us content. content they can add to, add stories, events etc.
    people will always complain. x.x
i just hope w/e they have planned. i hope they make it fun.

I bet they'll use the Stars system to determine difficulty counting the reward with how many stars you've put as difficulty.

    I can be wrongg, but we'll see. Let's bet a pizza =)

This statement is contradictory. Wouldn't more room for mistakes create more tension?

Some people in the thread are arguing that smaller parties make content easier and larger parties = harder. IMO the size of the party bears no correlation to difficulty, neither does it have to.

Surely with a party of 4 or 8 there are less variables and as such it is easier to tailor the whole dungeon/raid experience, as such making more challenging content is a LOT easier when designed for small parties, surely?

I'm not arguing that XIV should ONLY have 8 man max. I'd love to see larger alliance content but people need to realise that theres no correlation between party size and difficulty.

Well there is such a thing as the "glass ceiling" effect. Smaller groups of players have a more average statistical difficulty level because they are not "so weak" or "so strong" in their effectiveness. While a larger party creates a bigger spike on both ends of the spectrum.

Thus if you have massive alliances like WoW developers tend to go wild because they expect that only the best of the best, in a the all-star best will be playing it.

Though it's very harsh thinking, and reason WoW is...how shall we say it... a world of a-tards.

We do need some of that content for the l33t of l33t, but at this point we shouldn't consider catering to that type of audience as of yet...as frankly it's a "reboot", not a "continuation".

I want a hard, a normal, and a Don't let the bad monsters hurt me mommy difficulty setting. Of course the only reward for don't let the bad monsters hurt me mommy mode would be seeing the content and a npc that pops and says "thanks for the effort, but your princess is in another castle"
